It is good to see Amber so happy.

I didn't watch the ladies. so I have no impressions to distill.

I remember the days when I used to not watch the women because they skated to girly music and they all seemed to conform to the same feminine mold...

But after seeing women's skaters in person, I've grown to appreciate them a little more (although the men are still my favorite discipline) and the women aren't as excessively feminine these days...please give them a shot, especially Amber! Her short program this season definitely isn't girly!

TV coverage has always skipped over the first group, unfortunately.

People complained a lot about the coverage of Canadian nationals (for good reason, the video quality was not stellar, though I still think the commentary was pretty good, for the most part, and I'd take it over the incessant talking of Tara and Johnny to the point that I can barely hear the music for more than a second at a time, but I digress), but at least we got to see everyone. That's been the greatest thing about the advent of the internet when it comes to skating competitions. We're not so much at the mercy of the TV schedules and how many skaters they choose to show — or not.
