2024 Russian National Championships for Boys and Girls (Senior Age), Kazan

Yurova got higher PCS than Kostyleva
Looking at the breakdown, I actually don't find myself disagreeing that much - Higher in composition and presentation, lower in skating skills.🙈

I think the gap in skating skills could have been bigger, but nothing terribly out of place, IMO.

I didn't mean it isn't deserved.

I just remember Kostyleva got very generous PCS at the qualification.

She did. Lena has godly skating skills, but this program is not super fleshed out and she has no better presentation than most other skaters her age, which is usually rather limited in range.

I also think Alisa has been overlooked by fans when it came to PCS due to making mistakes and the lack of stable Ultra-C, her programs this year are some of my favorites, and I'm happy to see that the judges agree with me 😁

I mostly meant her SP. She fell and was finishing the program almost crying. And still won PCS. And her SP is terrible for her age imo.

I don't really hate the Short, but it's clearly been chosen as an ttempt to mask Lena's tendency for pageant-esque smiling throughout a whole program, which has probably been drilled into her head by her mother. :slink:

Do you think so? 🤔 I think it's a fun program that she usually does a great job at executing. Nothing particularly age-inappropriate about it

I just don't understand a kid doing latina. Especially in such costume.

It's not the most age-inappropriate program, but I don't like it.

Polina is a nice skater, but the jumps could use some work...love her hair, though, and also the way her costume matches it

Oh, and if Alisa's 3A was called clean (and it should be), that was also her first cleanly landed 3A with positive GOE in a competition - Nice end to the season for her ☺️

She is very much the product of her coaching team. Slender, long-limbed, beautiful programs, packaging and skating skills, but a real lack of lift on most jumps.
Only that her (former and current) teammates usually didn't start struggling with rotation issues until they started to grow taller in their teens. 🙈

Yep, definitely Lena's. Unless Petrova has the skate of her life and pulls out at least 1 ultra-c
