2024 JGP Czech Skate is the second of seven individual events of the 2024-25 Junior Grand Prix series and will take place September 4-7, 2024, in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series consists of seven international junior invitational events during the fall culminating with the 2024-25 ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in December 2024.

This event will feature the Singles (Women and Men), Pair and Ice Dance disciplines. It will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations & Technical Rules for Single & Pair Skating and relevant ISU Communications.

Points will be awarded to skaters and teams based on their placements for each individual event. These points will determine rankings and qualification for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in December.

World Standing points will also be awarded according to Communication No. 2550.

PSA is that I plan to be there, but no promises whatsoever about flower crowns delivery.
I will definitely prepare some, but if the arena logistics look like in 2022, there will be slim to no chance of delivering my stuff after the performance or after VC.
We shall see, but I'm already excited to see junior skaters live again :)

I am far less familiar with the names for this stage, but really hope for an interesting stage and maybe some podium finishes that are unexpected.

Ooooh. I wasn't expecting that. I was expecting to be posting in a couple of days that it is good to see that Varvara will be making her Junior GP debut at the fourth round in Ankara.

I hope this isn't a sign that Stefania is still struggling to get over her injury issues. Well, at least this will give her some more time.

Hey, it's a good job I got Varvara's posts moved out into her new Fan Fest thread a few days ago! ;)

All the best to Varvara on her earlier than expected Junior GP debut, and also to Stefania with whatever has led to her withdrawal.

Videos will be found in the JGP Rewatch

I'm so happy for Alica, she won the junior test skates two weeks ago by quite some margin in front of Vanesa, who does not seem competition ready yet. This will be her debute in juniors.:hap10:

How did Olivia get on? She's still too young for Seniors, isn't she?

I really rate both Lengyelová sisters, and I have looking forward for a long time to the time when they are both competing at the same level. So that we can finally get a proper indication of where they are at compared to each other. If their Rink Results pages are correct, they've never competed at the same level before.

So, I suppose this is one good thing that has come out of the age changes. That we get a couple of seasons of Olivia and Alica up against each other in Juniors.

Looking forward to see how they get on!

Olivia missed the test skates, I have not been able to find out why, my assumption is illness/injury. You are correct this will be the first season when they are competing in the same category and will be for a few more years as Olivia will not be eligible for seniors until 2026/27 season.

Sorry to hear that Olivia missed the test skates. I agree that there was probably an injury / illness reason, because I am sure she would have wanted to be out there to see where she was at compared to the opposition. And especially compared to her sister. ;)

And thanks for the confirmation that they hadn't competed at the same level before. I just wanted to make sure, because when I was making the Fan Fests for the Hristova sisters, I was surprised to find that they had competed against each other many years ago in Chicks at some Bulgarian domestic events. And because the age difference between Chiara and Vayana is the same as the age difference between Olivia and Alica, this meant it was a possibility here too.

But, whereas it looks like it won't happen again with the Hristovas due to Vayana wanting to switch to Pairs, we won't have to wait much longer for it to happen with the Lengyelovás!

Thank you for the reply.

:thank:

They've really been quite unfortunate - Paired up too late for the JGP last season, then missed Junior Worlds because Germany only had one spot (due to Dasha's food poisoning and GrimSav's subsequent withdrawal) and now this withdrawal.

They were supposed to be at JGP Gdansk as well as here, but it seems unlikely they'll be able to compete there if they've had to withdraw from this competition.
