When did she start representing Puetro Rico? I think I might have seen a mention of it on FSU months ago, but nothing here.

I beleive she is still training in DE. I am glad that she is representing PR. SHe can brake out of the Mid-Nats rut and make in to worlds.

Megan easily won the Senior Ladies event at the Cranberry Open with a score of 131.03 (52.53 SP, 78.50 FS). Katrina Hacker was a distant second wth 117.35 (44.78 SP, 72.57 FS).

It's nice to see a thread here about the lovely Megan Williams-Stewart. Megan qualifies to skate for Puerto Rico because of a very dear, very close relative.

So far she's skated in two competitions: the Cranberry Open mentioned above and Skate Wilmington in July where she was first in the SP and second in the LP.

Her next event will be the Karl Schafer Memorial also known as the Vienna Cup October 14-17. The Puerto Rican Nationals are usually held in January. I haven't checked the date for the upcoming one though.

Megan is still training at U of Del and she is also coaching. Jeff DiGregorio is a technical advisor, or has some other affiliation with the Puerto Rican Skating Federation. Megan appeared at Liberty with one of her students although she did not compete there. She is also doing some modeling.

Her 2007-2008 music selections are:

SP Indecent Proposal choreographed by herself and her coach Jeff DiGregorio
LP Warsaw Concerto choregraphed in 2004 by Chen Lu. They've updated the choreography to make it more COP relevant.

Williams-Stewart's last international competition was 2007 Nebelhorn Trophy (Sept. 27-30) where she won the silver medal. She was officially released by USFS this past summer (and removed from their Team C funding envelope) and therefore is eligible to compete for Puerto Rico starting October 1, 2008.

Puerto Rican Nationals have been held in March in New Jersey for the past few years. Here's the link to the PRFSF website: http://www.prfsf.com/

Yes, if Puerto Rico chooses to send her to either or both.

Does anyone know what events she will be eligible for now that she's switched to PR? That would be great to see her compete at Worlds in LA

I've always liked Megan's skating and I wish her the best. I think she is a lovely young lady.

Meagan has good solid technique but, can be rather slow at times. I guess with the new breed of upcoming skaters she feels PR is her last hope at some international exposure. PR can really use her. I wish her the best of luck

On a different note: Chaochiu Liu is now competing for Taipei and has not done well as expected.

I have no idea but if I see her coach, Jeff DiGregorio, at Skate America, I'll see if he is willing to shed some light on this. But it doesn't bode well that she hasn't participated in an international event so far. I'm a bit concerned at this point.

Is there an article link about Chaochiu? I really liked her 2007 programs.
