I also wanted add that officially, The FFSG did not want to let Contesti skate for Monaco because He had no link with Monaco. That's why I assume the fact that his wife has Italian roots had a big influence in his release.
I'm so happy to see him on the podium
Even if as a french I would prefer him skating for France! Tomas look better

Finally Carron/Jost are being noticed. Their scores are so high compared to the others. btw. Kriengkrairut/Giuletti-Schmitt are USA and I never heard of them.

Samuel can speak Italian fluently, certainly he speaks better than Karel.. I don't wanna fight but this is not exactly true.. Karel speaks well!!
I think he feels both Czeck and Italian, like it should be for everyone who lives somewhere since a long time and respects the country he's living in ,but still remembers and feels proud of his own roots
I wouldn't say Samuel is more italian than Karel, absolutely. . I'm sure Samuel will become more and more italian as years will pass and I'm happy that we have such good skaters skating for us
You are right. Her wife is daughter of an italian (which is actually coming from my region) so if I remember well, she has double citizenship and it was relatively easy for him to skate for FISG.And I'm sure I forgot some things

I never meant to say that he doesn't feel himself Italian at all
. I think he feel himself both French and Italian. Maybe a little more french since was born and he grew up there? My grandparents are not french but I do feel I'm french personnaly.

They were US national junior bronze medalists 2007, was 11th at junior worlds 2007,did Nebelhorn and cup of Russia 2008. They were 9th at US national senior 2008 (Maxwell/Traxler got 7th). They're rather young team, just teamed up few months before they won national junior bronze 2007. They trained along with Samuelson/Bates and the Hubbells with same coaches,Yasa and Iouri in Ann Arbor. They did pretty well at Karl Schaefer, but did struggle in FD due to her ankle injury during the competition.

Kostner won in the ladies but her LP skate apparently wasn't any better than her short. She finished with 93.07 for the LP and 143.66 overall. Glebova was second and Dytrt third. I can't find the full results anywhere, but hopefully someone else will post them soon.

That's not exactly that.
He asked to skate for Monaco before the begining of the 2006-2007 season, before the Masters. To be denied by the FFSG.
Samuel was "injured" for the Masters (never knew if it was a protest or not) and didn't come.
The FFSG still wanted to review his programs before confirming his participation to the GP serie so they asked him to go to the Coupe de Nice to have his programs reviewed ans his participation to the GP serie validated.
He refused to go, saying he should have his GPs anyway.
The fed disagreed and withdrew him from the SA and the TEB.
Then he was 3rd at Nats but, as Alban wasn't at Nats but had qualified for the GP final, Alban had automatically won his place in the team for Euros.
The FFSG wanted to send Samuel to another international competition but he said he was injured again and didn't go (actually, that's probably because he was in the process of changing of federation ; he hadn't participated to an international competition for a year ; had he entered another one, he would have lose 2 more years after changing ; he lost only one by not entering, it could be the same thing for the previous Coupe de Nice).
At the begining of the 2007-2008 season, he asked to skate for Italy.
And the FFSG agreed since he was in the process of acquiring the italian nationality.

Kostner having a rough skate is putting it nicely. Dytrt and Glebova both had higher TES. The only Triple she landed was a Triple Flip, and even that got -0.3 GOE. How can someone have such a skate and still get more PCS than e.g. Rochette and Meier at Worlds 2008?
Oh la la, Oda went for the Quad Toe in the free, didn't make it but went for it. Singled the Axel... The rest was pretty clean though.

What an absolute sham. Glebova crucified Kostner on the free. She was clearly better and what did the judges do? That's right, they manipulated the PCS to give Kostner the win. Elena scored 4's accross the board bar 1. She may be robotic in her movement but she has STRONG edges, excellent blade control, neat movement! If she competed for Russia, they would have been 6's! Carolina skated a shocker and her PC weren't even affected. Her execution was dull and dispirited, her presentation was completely marred by the TES nightmare and overall, she had no right being on top of that podium! ISu and their Judges are a bunch of organised criminals!

Typical Kostner, winning with dismal skates. The Politiking that her coach does must be incredible!How the hell could Kostner still score 93 with only one triple and two falls? Her PCS was almost irrevelant to her actual skating as long as she's alive.This is criminal.
Carolina was 17 pts ahead of the second place finisher in PCS alone. She still scored 7+ across the board with those dismal jump errors.
