2024-25 Grand Prix Final: Info and pre-game chat

Fortunately, my partner really likes figure skating - we both like dance, and he was an ice hockey player in his childhood and teens, so he appreciates both the performance / choreography, and the competitive element and skill of complex movement on skates.
Mine prefers football and cycling, but it's fine with me. When I'm watching at home and get emotional when someone I like does well, he always looks at me like I'm crazy 😅

Mine likes cycling, but neither of us care for football!

We both really like to go to the occasional live event, and haven't managed it for absolutely ages, so this is exciting for us! The last time we saw live skating was GPF Turin 2019.

Figure skating, that is. We've seen some hockey.

Bought my tickets, yay! For the afternoon session on Saturday and for the Gala I'll be in section N, for the evening session I'll be on the other side of the rink, N was sold out :D

Give me your TOP 3 of Womens skates in this year Grand Prix:

Here is my:

1:Rino FS in Canada
The most beatiful skate of this 6th GP's.Soft,delicate,clean.Performed on monsterous level. It's just the most amazing skate i probably saw in my 3 year watching adventure.

2:Wakaba FS in France
Such a performance.Focused and choreo wise amazing quality. So intense in every part.Brilliant Stsq and choreo seq.Love this version of her.

3:Amber SP in France
That's what we wanted from Amber and finally she get here.Thr impact this made was huge for her confidence and for fans watching. The highest level we can get from her most likely and well deserved 78 points. The energetic version of Amber is the correct one.

Honorable mention:
Chaeyeon FS in China-Finally not a lazy skate from her.We could see her best and it was beatiful.Worked really hard in Stsq part and also managed well the Lutz situation.Want her everytime like this.

Rinka SP overall:This program is amazing in every part.Starting with perfect dress to moonlight sonata to her movements and accents in perfect music spots.Just beatiful

Ouch! My partner and I get emotional at old Subaru Commericals :laugh2:.....She will watch skating with me on TV so we can be together but her real sport is dog agility. She has won Nats and represented the US at Worlds......

My partner will go with me to an event if it is in Spokane ( SA 2002, Nats 2007, 2010 or shows) and enjoys it, but cant travel as she does her sport and that takes commitment and time. So funny...at Nats 2010 we got to know one of those photogs that crawls out onto a carpet to shoot the podium, and we waved at her and she took our pic! LOL!

Rewatch will be found here for Seniors
I may need your help....I will be away in the Sea of Cortez during part of the comp.....be back on the 21st of Dec.

@Idiote I finally got around to e-mailing about what we can bring into the venue :D I hope I'll get an answer and most of all I hope they understood - my French is at a VERY low level :D
Also I've been looking at photos from the rink and noticed that there seems to be no way to get to the boards, which is bad since I have gifts for some of the skaters but zero throwing skills 😂

I noted that at GP China the gala crew was having issues throwing what appeared to be rolled up posters into the crowd. There seem to be some...ahhhh...interesting venues around the world....

I believe the best thing to do is to make some new friends at the arena and hope they have good throwing skills. 😂

I hope so. Two of the skaters I have gifts for I'll only see at the gala (if they get invited 😬) which does make it even more complicated. Right now I wish I was there for Pairs FS already, but on the other hand...I get too much adrenaline watching, so it's maybe better that I can't 😅

If I recall my sunflowers in Grenoble gifting in 2018 correctly, shorter sides and corners are the most hopeful to give or throw something. Piper had to reach for the bouquet and card I had, but we made it work somehow

That sounds good :D I think I'm seated near a corner at the gala.

You got this! Plus in 2021 I was NAUGHTY and threw crowns to Piper and Paul after VC , I was on short side, in 2nd row I think and they called to me "throw them!", so volunteer be damned and I did it!
😁 Deanna said when they do their final lap at the gala I can try to hand things over but I'd have to yell for her really loud to be heard over the music 🤣 let's see how that works out

If Adam (hope he takes the time to heal!) is out of the GPF does that mean that Mikhail is in? Because if so I have so predictions to update, lol.
Mikhail is first on the replacement list and he has posted about it on instagram already so I guess he's in 😁

My preferred way of destressing during a skating competition is by moving to an open seat in a row further away from the ice! Somehow distancing myself physically distances myself mentally too. If I can't do that, then I try to breathe. 😅
