Yeah there was something related to a swan, but I should have posted a clue earlier. Her rival played a swan role, during the Olympics games, winning the title. She's Zhenya playing Anna Karenina!

I was way off. I was trying to work it out to be Oksana Baiul with the Russian Grande Dame referring to Anna Pavlova in her role as the dying swan.

ISU : she won silver at 4CC and bronze at Worlds
but she's never won a GP medal.
Also, she's probably the unluckiest skater ever with all sorts of health issues, car accidents, freak collisions etc etc.
