That score would have been 8th at last years Europeans. So hopefully they send her.

If she skates like that at Europeans, she is likely placing top 10. Refreshing to see a skater here with decent skating skills and good jump technique. No question on jump rotations-- and while the program isn't my cup of tea, she interpreted it well from start to finish.

Ah, thanks for that info. Bulgaria has alot of ethnic Turks with similar traditional music and they speak Turkish. I've chatted in Turkish to a Bulgarian taxi driver in London before.I love music from that part of the world. But I am not sure about the cover of "Nothing Else Matters" that was in the middle. It wasn't a great cover to start with, and it felt really out of place.
Incidentally, the "Nothing Else Matters" cover was by a Polish folk group that was their 2019 Eurovision entry (one of the Polish members told us a few weeks ago that they do lots of covers like that), while the guy that played the other pieces is Bulgarian.
My goodness, you're right! I've never seen Tiffany with her natural hair colour before. It does suit her, and really shows off her natural beauty,

Now she's no longer in Russia, can we call her Tiffany Zagorski again? When competing for Russia they changed the spelling of her name to Tiffani Zahorski to make it more Russian. But yes, she is beautiful as a natural blonde or red head. I hear she's coaching in France. The young Hungarians have certainly improved this season, they just had a bad competition here.

Hey, you would have had plenty of opportunity to do that in Spain this week. For the past couple of days, we have had an afternoon break lasting around 3 hours.
No, it's not for a siesta. It's for practices, because there is only one rink.
Really makes you appreciate the venues that have a separate practice rink.

I live in hope Lee Valley will one day host a JGP event.
I've just had a look at their Challenger scores. If it's the same as for the Slovakian men, Euros selection will be based on scores from Nepala, Warsaw and here. Selmekova has edged Doboszova by less that a point overall on the two Challenger events, but her comprehensive win here should have sealed it for her. I wasn't sure before because I hadn't looked at the Challenger scores and knew that they mattered.

That's the sort of story I love to hear! It is fascinating finding out about the relationships between languages.
Erm, I know you've known Tiffany a lot longer than I have, having followed her since her days skating in London. But I think you've got things a bit mixed up.
From what I remember, her name is Tiffany Zahorski. But when her Polish name was transliterated into Cyrillic and then back again, it became "Tiffani Zagorski", because there is no direct equivalent letter to our "h" in Cyrillic and they use the letter for our "g" instead.
I can think of a couple of Russian skaters with German ancestry that had the same thing happen to their names when they were double transliterated. Daniel Gleichenhaus became "Daniil Gleikhengauz". And Heinrich Hartung became "Genrikh Gartung".
Anyway, as soon as she stopped competing for Russia, she changed the name on Instagram profile from "Tiffani Zagorski OLY" to "Tiffany Zahorski OLY".
And if I had been visiting her Instagram profile more often, I would have known sooner that she had stopped using the red dye. I always liked the red hair, but now that I've seen her natural colour, I prefer it.

And I totally agree - it would be cool to have an international event (or even Nationals) held somewhere other than Sheffield for a change.
Am I imagining things, or do I remember hearing one time that the ISU wouldn't let the UK host Worlds because they wanted it held in London, and there wasn't anywhere suitable?
I'm not saying that Lee Valley is a candidate for hosting Worlds. It probably wouldn't have the audience capacity that the ISU requires for a Major. But now that Lee Valley has a twin pad, maybe it will tempt the ISU to bring more smaller events to our islands.

Bulgarian isn't similar to Turkish - but Bulgaria was ruled by Turks for centuries, so there are many people of turkish origins there.
It's funny bc of phonetics - cyrillic letter "г" can be both "g" or "h" - in Polish transcription it would be "g" for Russian, but "h" for Ukrainian or Belarussian and her family seems to be of Belarussian ancestry, so it should be "h", not "g".

You know, reading your comment prompted me to actually run a translation of a page I had seen on a Polish genealogy website years ago that contained Tiffany's family tree. (I came across it because it is linked to on her Wikipedia page). And, right enough, the sentence at the top of the page said that they were of Belorussian origin.
So thank you for the tip off. (I really should have done that when I first came across that page!)

The Euros team should be Hagara, Selmekova and Pucherova/Lysak if the fed follows their own criteria. The Worlds team will likely be the same as well as Nepela, 4 Nationals and Dragon Trophy (singles)/Egna Dance Trophy (ice dance) are the qualifying competitions and there is very little chance that Vaclavik, Doboszova and Simova/Aksenov will narrow down the huge gaps in the one competition that is left, besides Vaclavik is still missing the senior Worlds minimums, but he should be the clear choice for second spot at Junior Worlds, Hagara got that one just by starting at JGP.
