Although I've mentioned her a few times on here (in relation to wondering if she was related to German Ice Dancer Maximilian PFISTERER), I think this was the first time I actually saw Sophie PFISTERER (AUT).

Awwww, she is the tiniest wee girl you've seen! When she was doing the heart arms thing with her coach afterwards, she couldn't reach her coach's hand to join up the two sides!

A beautiful programme, and a beautiful skate.

She goes into 4th position.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for her in future. She looks promising.

We now move into the ISU part of the event for the Junior and Senior Free Skate segments. And it is the same running order as yesterday. Junior girls, then Junior cacti, then Senior cacti, then Senior girls.

I knew I recognised the voice singing the cover of "Eye Of The Tiger" that Miriama SOSINA (LAT) had as her second song. It was French singer Amel Bent (who was also singing the first song).

I absolutely love Survivor's original version. But, this version wasn't bad either. Although, I should add a dislaimer that I like Amel Bent anyway.

Yes. I enjoyed that.

She goes into 4th position in the FS, and 3rd position overall.

Leilah PATTEN (GBR) was skating to "Rise Like A Phoenix". Which is always dangerous, because it inevitably evokes memories of Anna Pogorilaya's iconic exhibition programme to that music. But Leilah tried to avoid the comparisons. Insead of wearing a dress reminiscent of Conchita Wurst's like Anna did, Leilah wore a dress in firebird colours.

Unfortunately, it did not go well.

She had two falls. The only other skaters to do that are in the bottom 3 (and one of them was the other British skater, Lilian MUSGRAVE).

Oh no! She's crying her eyes out!

It's never nice seeing a skater crying. But it is so upsetting when it is a skater you like.



She goes into 5th position in the FS, and 4th overall.

One good thing she can take out of it, though. She is the only skater so far to get into the 40's for her PCS. So far that:

Again, like yesterday, most of the times that we saw Vasilisa she was just crossing the camera shot.

Although, we did see her do a lovely jump early on in the Warm-Up. And in the last minute, we saw her do a whole pile of beautiful spins in camera shot.

There was one moment when Vasilisa was crossing the shot backwards that another skater nearly ran into her. I think the other skater had been with her coach at the boards, and was heading back out and just plain wasn't looking where she was going.

On a different note, about half-way through the Warm-Up, we saw one of the Finnish girls kicking her pick into the ice a few times right in front of the camera. You could actually hear it! And you could see the effect afterwards.

I didn't like that.

Vasilisa was bit more stable last season but its nice to see her in international competition now.

Yipes. I accidentally closed my Golden Skate window when the skater on before Vasilisa was waiting for her scores. So, I had a mad rush to open this thread again in time for her starting.

Fall on first jump, Triple Flip.

Just about landed the first part of combination, the Triple Lutz. (I thought she was going to continue on round!)

But everything else after that was beautiful...

...until the very last jump, the Triple Loop, where I think she was worried about being too close to the boaords.

She goes into the lead of both FS and overall.

Vasilisa was bit more stable last season but its nice to see her in international competition now.

I didn't see her until she was competing internationally (I only saw her really impressive scores). But I totally agree with you. Even at the start of this season, she was more stable than she has been in her past few competitions.

Seeing how she was skating in Kazakhstan and Austria, I thought she was going to win everything she entered. But, then she started making mistakes, and dropping down the order.

I really hope she can find the form she showed at the start of the season soon. Or she might not get the Junior Worlds call-up that I thought she was practically sure of getting.

Oh dear. This is not what I wanted to happen.

You know the Finnish girl I was talking about during the Warm-Up. Well, it was Darja TRUBITSON, the last to skate in this group. And she had a disaster skate.

I don't think I have ever seen a skater crying as much as she was afterwards. Her coach tried to console her, but to no avail. And then she had to leave because she had another skater doing her Warm-Up. And it meant poor Darja was sitting on her own in floods of tears.

I think she switched coaching staff after she transferred due to her former coaches starting to work at CSKA at the start of the season. That could maybe be part of the reason.

That could explain a lot. Because I noticed that it has been her Mum sitting with her at the recent competitions, rather than a coach like she had earlier in the season.
