2025 U.S. Nationals Senior Rhythm Dance

Question for smart dance people:

What differentiates a pattern step sequence from any other step sequence? It's not like the old compulsories where the pattern had to be created, preferably right on top of previous steps. And it's not like the old short dance that included sections of the compulsories that had precisely defined step requirements, even if not repeated.

This scorebox is really awful, I hate that they have elements in red despite the fact that they earned positive GOE and the ice dance called elements are so small it's difficult to read the levels. I definitely prefer the version they had yesterday that had BV and score with GOE. A team gets a +1.07 on their choreo rhythm sequence and yet it's in the red?

It is a portion of the pattern dance containing the key points.
This year they do two parts of the pattern and in one of them the male and female switch places so that the female leads and the male follows which is really cool.

Ben gets to share his credentials, yay!

Ashley is again co-commenting, not yay.

Ashley is great, and for some of us, an all-time favorite!

She speaks fast so that she doesn't speak during the actual skates. Good for her. The first year she and Adam commentated, they both spoke too much during the skates. They learned and self-evaluated ... since that time, they've been relatively quiet during the skates. Way to go!
