2025 U.S. Nationals Senior Free Dance

I am rooting for Emily & Ian to go clean today. They have looked so fast and free in practice and Ian skated too carefully yesterday. I think he was worried about another twizzle error and it kinda messed with their spacing and lower marks.

I missed the last group of the RD last night. What happened to Neset/Markelov and/or Bratti/Somerville, that they’ve found themselves in this lower level group?

it's borderline illegal, it's a felony in the United States to marry someone solely for citizenship purposes and it is wholly irresponsible to have a LITERAL CHILD engaging in such a risky endeavor for a shot at the Olympics (which is the only skating competition that requires citizenship) that is unlikely to come before they have a chance to be naturalized in other ways.
I don't think that marriage is purely for citizenship, as they were the only ones of the three teams involved to actually have a public wedding once Leah was over 18. Still, at 17, she had no business getting married and her parents should not have agreed to it.

No but the writing is on the wall....JL kept talking in practices about what he used to do when they "used" to skate. It's painful and I broke up with ice dancing after mourning their US Championship, Olympic team medal and world medal
i'm going to miss them, they were so different, bringing their quirkness and originality all the times. i loved them so much

That's so sad - I don't want to start a tangential discussion, but I always felt they were a top, top team, and always seemed to get ridiculously underscored. Every time I saw them skate live, I was so moved.

Leah missed catching her foot on the twizzles and they lost points and Bratti/Somerville had spacing issues on the twizzles getting a bit far and then too close.

Also Oona & Gage skated their best and Wolf/Tsar who also skated well looked like they got a boost for Jr Worlds to me.

Neither had an obvious, glaring error. Leah missed her blade catch on a twizzle and the pattern of twizzles for Emily and Ian were not the best perhaps due to slightly cautious skating. The top 5 were all flawless, so flawless in fact that many believe C/P should have been below Z/K and G/P.

I will go for that.

For those who are so inclined, and have a Facebook page, I found the USFS official Facebook page.

Perhaps some negative comments about the skating schedule will help with future schedules.

They ditched their Star Wars program? Boo—I liked it, and thought that the storytelling aspect made it a good fit for a new team that doesn’t know each other.

But I guess, Morozov gonna Morozov, now that they are training with daddy

Others (not me) said that Emily & Ian were punished for not making the FD last year.

Jeffrey's Chen's blouse is so puffy that I could wear it before I go to the all you can eat buffet at my local Rustler and know it would still fit on the way home.

Lots of great highlights in that program by M/C. For a new team they interpreted that well. I hope they stay together for a while.

For me, this was a very tight skate from Annabelle and Jeffrey - the opening two lifts were very shaky, and I felt like they really lost a lot of speed and ice coverage during their one-foot and on their rotational lift. However, Jeffrey avoided having a major disaster, which is a win for him (he was a notorious splatter in juniors)

Yes, I firmly believe they are paying the consequence of that, particularly due to them being placed below the junior team that won the JGPF silver medal.

Disappointed Jeffrey didn’t end with the classic waltz jump, I was expecting it

I kind of feel they won’t be skating together next season. I hope I’m wrong

very SinKats

Oh, those programmes were absolutely stunning - so moving. It sounds like she'd had a tough time. I wonder if Jean Luc will team up with a new partner - IMHO, he's one of the best male ice dancers in the world.

I believe him to be done, but I'm not close personal friends with him or anything
