2025 U.S. Nationals Senior Free Dance

Overall, I did not find this a very interesting competition. Chock and Bates were way below par in the free dance - understanably. Gabriella Papadakis said as much in commentary. Still, in ice dance it it not really possible to lose a ten point lead, even with an uninspired effort in the free. C&B accomplished what they came for.

By the way, I really liked Papadakis'commentary. I hope the television networks keep her on their short list..

the scoring was interesting :) reminded me of worlds last year where Madi and Evan were so far ahead everyone else in the RD that they just couldn't lose the title... even when finishing second in the FD.

Talking of which, I believe they should have been behind CPOM in the FD... but you know.. that's alright... I am not a judge ;)

I agree Gabby is great

Almost forgot to update the rewatch with the skate order for men's free
I really wonder if I will have any links to post...or does this whole event go poof with the peacock?

If it does, can I hit the Peacock like a pinata?
@CellarDweller I need a graphic for this!

Why do they dislike Bra/Som, though? I found it excessive. When a team is on an upward trajectory, you reward them. I find the hype around Zin/Kol excessive. They are expressive, but the skating is not so clean.

Very interesting

4CC : Green and Parsons not going means they will have much earlier starting order. They didn't go to Worlds last year either so they will probably be quite early.. It won't help them.

Juniors : The Peals were at JGPFs... so not qualifying for worlds is huge. I didn't follow the event. I am sure there are good reasons. I am not a huge fans of the Peals either... but I am not a fan of W/T either ;) In any case, I guess the field is just that deep in the USA junior dance...

Looking at the scores between the Mullens and the Peals, the Mullens were outscoring the Peals most of the season. They have an example spreadsheet linked in their selection documents that shows how all the scores are compared, so that would have decided it in favour of the Mullens.
