New boots with ankle hardware?

Hey everyone, I’ve got a bit of a skating story to share. Last year, I had a bit of a mishap while skating and ended up breaking my tibia and ankle. I had to get a rod and screws put in my leg and ankle, but thankfully, I was able to get back on the ice. However, I do have a screw on the inside of my ankle that sometimes gets pulled on by my skates, which can be a bit uncomfortable, and getting down into my ankles isn’t as comfortable as it used to be. I’m currently wearing Jackson Debut Low-Cut boots, which I’ve never had any issues with before, but they’re starting to break down and I need new ones. While I was researching, I heard that some people with surgical hardware, like me, find that edeas can provide better support, and easier ankle bend. I’m curious to know what other people’s experiences have been and if they have any recommendations for boots or other gear.

I’m a synchro skater, coach, and still do dance, skills and some free skate on one session a week.

Edit to add:
I’m 5’5” and 160lbs, regular arches and located in Canada!

HI and welcome. Actually most brands that are higher rated than Debuts will allow that, esp with ankle punch outs.

What is your foot type? Arches: Very high/high/regular/low/flat? Height & weight? Where are you in this world? After answering those, I would be glad to help and make some suggestions for you.

Roman or Greek foot is a no for Edea. You want to look at Risport or Jackson. Look at Jackson Supreme Pro 5320. You could also look at Synergy Elite. As far as Risport Rf3 pro. You would need blades go pair with them and look at the MK Dynasty blade as it is a hybrid synchro/dance and singles blade. I think it would be perfect for you!
Good luck! :)
