Or, they may not. These sources of music are also copyright protected and it may be problematic to arrange especially for a foreign skater/team. Like you said, Yuzuru approached the game creators directly and we don't know how much he actually paid (or, do we?Really, anime and Asian dramas (most of which have theme songs for every major character), like game soundtracks, are a vastly untapped source of both music and attention from these big fandoms. [...] And may very well be less expensive than pop/rock (with the current mess on music rights and costs, something to think about).
) or what the deal was. That said, the fact that a deal is possible is good news, at least in theory. OGs is an event with a huge media coverage, so some might be interested to use it as a promotional platform. Then again, OGs have their own set of sponsors and there is a compatibility problem... It's complicated. But I like to think that we have a hope

And if we dream...
...wouldn't it be great if an official mashup was released for sale?i have another suggestion, also another one of my etnarnal skating wishes, Pink Floyd - Confortably Numb and Wish you were here. do i even need to link those two monuments of modern music?![]()
We often have specific remixes or even specially composed musical pieces in figure skating. Why not to make them available?
In Europe and America, figure skating is not that big a thing for this to work; but it might in Japan

If ISU is officially trying to turn figure skating into a platform for high fashion (I guess that creating the Best Costume Award means exactly that), then why not work a little harder and turn it into a promotional platform for music?
Music on its part is often tied to films, shows, and games... Imagine if it turned everything around and entertainment industry executives queued at skaters' doors with musical pieces and sponsorship deals in their hands...
Too bad that figure skating needs to be a popular sport for this to happen
