Oh gosh, so close... if Minerva and Nikita had gotten a level 3 on their death spiral or a level 4 on that final lift they would have won. I think the Olympics are going to be soooooo exciting, there are so many good teams who are so competitive, and I'm so happy that everyone on our podium went home happy and satisfied with their skates!

I’m not quite sure why the different rules. I believe last Olympiad it started. Vincent had to go to Nebelhorn and qualify the spot becase he didn’t make the free.

Bsically, since the Olympic spots have a hard cap, the large federations were grabbing too many spaces and it was almost impossible for small federation skaters to qualify.

Since Worlds spots aren't capped, giving extra spots based on the performance of one or two skaters doesn't take away from the ability of other federations to send one skater.
