What are the three worst musical themes in figure skating?

I have never been a fan of Mummy programs or of a pairs programatic theme about bringing a manikin to life. (But if they brought a scary Chuckie doll to life, or an evil clown... )

But as for Swan Lake and Carmen, I say "Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold.". :)

No matter how well done :)

The tenderness in this performance on the part of Anton toward his partner is just

Of course nothing beats the original.

I love a good Carmen or Swan Lake, they are just overused.

What I watch only with much grumbling:

Charlie Chaplin

Elvis

No matter how well done :)
I always see the Chaplin theme and the Phantom of the Opera theme as the same: ugly or awkward man falls in love with beautiful girl. Beauty and the Beast and the Hunchback of Notre Dame have the same concept, but the music isn't used as much.

But I agree about disliking the Chaplain character specifically, and Elvis. I didn't even like Elvis Presley's music when I was a kid, although I was too young during his early years and only heard it played when he was past his prime.

I don't think cutprice covers is a theme as such (although there seemed to be a positive rash of them this year :dbana:)

Me too, me so too (sorry Mikhail K, sorry Javi). I'd add cowboy/western which I find totally cringeworthy no matter how good the skater might be but I think it's mostly in galas anyway, thank god, so my third would be hip hop which is equally cringeworthy when on ice (I actually like some hip hop, but hate it for skating programs.) And I know I've forgotten something...

I've just remembered (what can I say, it's early in the morning and my brain was being merciful). I would take any amount of Chaplin, Elvis and hip hop if I never had to listen to Michael Buble again, so my list changes to...
Bublé
Bublé
Bublé
... and then the other three.

Ah, well there we must differ I am afraid. That's OK, no one should be in lockstep. :)

I have actually spent good money to watch Michael Bublé in concert. And I enjoyed it. ;)There was a time there when he was overdone in skating, but I think sadbois have overtaken him now.

everything by Il Volo/Caruso
Wait, wait! Who is Caruso? Do you mean the Caruso?

Speaking of Elvis, here is his cover from 1960. :)

That's fine, I have dearly beloved pieces of music I have to listen to with headphones because they make my nearest and dearest mildly homicidal.... :coffee:

Bublé is not necessarily bad and not really overused as others who are way worse and way more overused. I love a good tango
Too bad there are many awful ones. So I guess we are once more in a spiral thread showing once more how as fans, we will never agree on anything ;)

To Build A Home and anything similar
La Terre vue du ciel, Experience and anything similar
Ballads, many pop songs... I would ban so much if I could😅

Carmen and Swan Lake are great, because you can't hide behind that music.
