2025 Fall Summer Classic -

Sorry, I don't think I'll be able to make it to Anaheim. Attempted to pull an all-nighter to finish my project, but I couldn't finish it and am still feeling quite tired. At least I know what I have to do to finish it and can get this done today.

On Maddie's Planned content listing it had a Triple Axel listed. Is she really going for a Triple Axel?
Yes. She has been practicing it.
She was at a figure skating show and there was a video circulating h showing her attempt the 3A. None of them were successful, but, her best attempt was not a bad one and showed some promise.
Wow!! Go Maddie!!! 🇨🇦

I knew she was trying them but didn't know she was ready to put one into her program, especially the short.

McBeath and Parkman have WD. :(
I wouldn't read much into that. They might have planned on only doing the SP from the start. They already have a bye to Nationals, so they didn't need to compete here in the first place.

I think they are in danger of being overtaken by Shin/Nagy, though. If whoever is sent to the Olympic qualifier (most likely Chan/Howe) secures a third spot and Efimova doesn't get US citizenship in time, there is potentially an Olympic berth on the line between McBeath/Parkman, Shin/Nagy and any other team which does well across the Autumn.

We're not even really certain of Parkman's citizenship status, so McBeath/Parkman might be out of contention anyway.

If they get that third spot, the contenders for 3 Olympic spots would be out of the group of Kam/O'Shea, Chan/Howe, Plazas/Fernandez, Shin/Nagy, and Flores/Wang. Of course, Kam/O'Shea and Chan/Howe would be the top two contenders in that group, and that third spot being the battle.

ETA: My mind completely blanked on Flores/Wang earlier.

Lia and Trennt have improved a lot during the summer.. new throw... new lifts. wow.... i like their program. I hope the costumes are not quite finalized yet but that's a minor detail.

Maddie : very nice costume. The lutz didn't work today but it's okay... too bad she couldn't really combo, she lost a lot of points but the program is maturing nicely
I liked Lia and Trent's costumes. :) It is a less energetic programme than last year, which I think is a good thing. They had a tendency to get sloppy in the second half last season, which I suspect was from the energy needed to portray the choreography properly.

I'm not sure whether Maddie had got complacent from the lead she had from the SP, but she looked uninterested. She seemed to just be going through the motions. More fight was needed.

i don't dislike Lia and Trennt's costume but it needs a bit of tweaking for it to work.. It's a departure with the ombré/flowy from their usual sharp style so I'd like them to play a bit more on that. I think i will really like the program later on but I would have liked a bit less musical selections... lots of cuts in there :)

for Maddie... I think she knocked herself out of it when she fell on the lutz... i don't remember her falling on the opening triple lutz in ages... so perhaps from then, she was like... damn it... but i appreciate that she is upgrading to 2 lutzes and 2 loops. Her planned content is almost optimal for her....and is quite a departure from her repeating toes and salchows/loops

There is a possibility that the fifth ranking American pair could go to the Olympics, pending the outcome of the event in China and the citizenship status of Parkman and Efimova - both of which are unclear to me at the moment.
