2025 John Nicks Pairs Challenge Senior SP

STELLATO-DUDEK / DESCHAMPS: very strange unfortunate costly error on the sbs jumps, Deanna didn’t jump at all, looked like a timing issue or issue w the entrance. Other than that they looked strong but I can’t imagine that’s not going to hurt their score a lot—oh okay maybe not???
maybe that was the "never seen before" element they were talking about. LOL

The protocols are interesting.

This is a very good competitive debut of this program, which is pretty new. It's the replacement of the planned Riverdance short.

Level 4 on all of the leveled elements, and reasonable PCS for the first real outing. Of course, none of us except @Lamente Ariane have seen it yet, but the GOE on the throw and the lift especially indicate plenty of room to grow.

Edit: talking about Alisa and Misha.

Honestly my thought process for pairs is who cares about the jumps. So proud of Deanna/Max to come out swinging this year, excited to see how they do in the free. I am getting worried about Olivia/Luke though. I always loved them as a team while they were in juniors and was hoping their last season of struggle was going to change. Really hope they can rebound.

Love the music. When a program is filmed with only one camera, so that you see the whole ice surface all the time with no close-ups, that's when you notice a sparseness in choreography with gaps between elements. Hopefully during the season more intricacies will be added inbetween. We were never in their league, but an early season program would be all about planning the layout in space and time of the required elements, then going back later and filling in the blanks.

Oops, wrong thread before, lol.

And bringing the other video of Deanna and Max to this thread, too.

Spencer & Emily were great!
They skated their Nyah program from 2022, same costumes, but I think they have new, different SP this season.. still, it was nice to see it again. I wonder what they will skate to in the FP. So glad they did well.

Per their bio, it's supposed to be Ghost.

I thought the number they did at Summer Sizzler was supposed to be their new SP, but maybe they decided to go back to another old one since they had a late start to training.

I wonder.. perhaps they are still working on the new program and decided to return to a familiar routine for this comp.. we shall see

Honestly they seemed so strong and confident reprising Nyah that I don’t think it would be a bad idea to continue with it for the rest of the season. I am less excited to see the Ghost free skate back, though…
