2025 JGP Varese Rhythm Dance

Back-to-back "Backstreet's Back" by the Backstreet Boys!

But, the song is speeded up here. No, I don't like this speed.

Or the music that came after it.

And now we have another "Larger Than Life"

Ambre PERRIER GIANESINI / Samuel BLANC KLAPERMAN (FRA) are wearing matching outfits. But, Ambre is wearing a glittery white bra which is shining through her top.

Well, she's a French Ice Dancer. It's part of the job that she has to do something strange! If she didn't, the costumes would be too tame.

Unfortunate fall for Samuel next to the boards.

They go into 4th position.

Are you ready for this Rhumba? The pattern and the music seem mismatched. +1 for not using Backstreet anything...

That is absolutely true, but I have a few more theories.

For one, lots of multiples are born pre-maturely, which can cause some health issues and I've heard a lot of skaters talk about their parents being told to put their children into skating to help their lungs and stamina.
Also, it might just be connected to parental wealth. I know that a lot of multiples are the result of natural pregnancies, but if IVF is involved, the parents are probably also more likely to be able to afford letting their kids skate as a sport.
So they can afford to buy some rest time and do not feel bad about it couse it's all for children' health.

If ISU has picked this style for RD in order to make ID more popular among the broader audience at the Olympics somehow I have my doubts it will work out as desired. 🤔
folk dance would have been a funnier idea from that point of view. but i understand that in the mind of a bunch of boomers the 90s are so avant garde...

here is the thing... the real way to make ID more popular with a broader audience is to make decisions that are making the sport at its best... letting the athletes find their own ways to shine, with their own strengths. Of course, a canvas is needed, but this stuff... nah... It's restrictive, repetitive, limiting and it ends up being a wash. Even for a dedicated fan like I am, I tune out every 3-4 programs.

Hector and that full head of hair. They look very confident. They get two keypoints. They match lines well. They skate a bit small, but their is something fun about them. Lara is a very neat skater who should get more comfortable with her expression as the season goes on. I like them.
