2025-26 Retirements, Splits and New Partnerships

I wonder if their affiliation with Israel and the mandatory military requirements for young Israeli adults-male and female, had anything to do with it. I'm not sure how dual citizenship works in this case, but it seems strange that they would pull out after preparing for the new season and likely making the minimum to skate for Israel at the Olympics. I've always enjoyed their skating and wish them all the best. Life does go on.
I have no idea but if that were an issue, they could simply have asked a release and skate back for the USA

This is official now:

Carpenter/Maravilla have split.

Since I've never heard of them, just let me know if I've assigned their first names incorrectly in the OP based on the names in the IG post.

Sara Kishimoto / Michail Savitskiy are a new Ice Dance team for Germany 🇩🇪 They are training at IAM.

Rumours have been going around for a little while, but it's official now, as the organisers of the Eisgala shows have released their line-up information, which includes Sara and Michail.

As Sara last competed for Japan at Jr Worlds this year, they won't be able to compete this season, at least not internationally, but they're able to take part in ice shows to get some performance practice in.

Think this is Michail's last year as a junior, so when they emerge from being country locked, they should be seniors.

Oh yay! I love Michael and was sad when he and Daria Grimm spilt. Nice to see he has also found himself a new partner at an elite training camp. Sara is adorable!

I guess time will tell; they are young. Perhaps they will take a year or two off, enjoy college life, and then if the climate permits, either return to skate for Israel or bid to return to the US and try their luck with a new cycle of ice dancers.

Hanna Jakucs and Alessio Galli have split.

Excited to be the first to post here about this

New ice dance pair: Rika Kihira & Shingo Nishiyama

Auto-translation:
This time, Shingo Nishiyama and I have decided to form an ice dance couple.
I try ice dancing.
I am grateful to my family, affiliations, and sponsors who pushed me through this challenge, and to Shinya Nishiyama for giving me another opportunity in my skating career.
I will continue to work hard on my dreams.

Training at @iceacademyofmontreal

Can you supply their country?

Can you supply their country?
They were skating for the Netherlands but were sued by the other Dutch team...long complicated story, basically it was about how much of the time they spent training outside of the Netherlands. They annnounced that they were without a federation back in spring already.

It's a bit complicated. They skated for The Netherlands (2020-2025) most recently (although the ISU clearance had been taken away after Europeans). It seems Hungary welcomed them back (Hanna is Hungarian) as a couple (Alessio is Italian) but it didn't work out. But, I think The Netherlands would be the best answer.

Christina Podgornei and Thierry Caron (Ice Dance, Canada) have split. They competed at Skate Canada's NextGen competition as a new team.

She's on Ice Partner Search now. I suspected that they had split since they were removed from Equipe B on Patinage Quebec's site and aren't registered for sectionals there.

Charlene Bailey and Nathan Bartholomay are a new Pairs team from the start orders on the Boston Open (here)

I'm assuming they're representing the US since they're representing the Skating Club of New York. The only Charlene Bailey involved with figure skating I could find is a Canadian costume designer/coach.
