And, we have a moon which keeps the earth steady (without it the earth would roll, I am told by a friend)OTOH, we have gravity, and sunrise and sunset. I wonder how "Flat Earthers" think how thick the earth is?

https://x.com/fskatecomptimes/status/1983177917837578371There was a schedule that showed all time zones for the other competitions but I cannot find one for this. Does anyone have a link to this? With the change to winter time here I am not sure if I have the right time. Did Canada already switch to winter time?
Thank you
Please dont get my hopes up! Unfortunately, when Ted and Mark do a senior GP, the producers make they talk during the skates at least alittle.Speaking of Peacock, I also see Men's Free listed twice. All competition segments are there, but no Gala. It could be that one "Men's Free" is actually the NBC broadcast and one is the Men's FS World Feed. Unless it changes, I think it's a "click and see" situation.
Semi-related question: Is Chris going to be commentating at SC? I wonder how they'll split up the GPs between Chris and Ted/Mark. Do we know?
. I record the Johnny and Tara show and edit out all the commercials, skaters I dont like
and fluff. I do leave in the Maddie and Evan "Marriage game" segment and the Alysa Liu interview where she judges skating fashion over the decades and describes how her sister held up her top lip so Alysa could take her piercing needle and Pierce her mouth and add blond haloes to her hair.I hope you get out at some point. I vaguely remember the river meandering through the city and it was beautiful !Well I made it to Saskatoon this afternoon and am now ensconced in the Comfort Suites next to the SaskTel Centre. It appears to be sort of out in the sticks (or boondocks). The places to eat within walking distance are a Husky truck stop restaurant, a Tim Hortons, and possibly a food counter at Costco.
At least the hotel serves breakfast. I’m hoping there might be some reasonable sandwiches or something at the venue.
I was able to get good flight connections by taking a ferry to Victoria BC and flying from there via Vancouver on Air Canada. When I checked flights for some friends in the U.S. it appeared they could probably fly to Europe faster than they could fly here.
I'm guessing the usual staples of arena food: pizza, hot dogs, popcorn... *sigh* But since this is Canada, they should have poutine, and I wonder if it's any good...Well I made it to Saskatoon this afternoon and am now ensconced in the Comfort Suites next to the SaskTel Centre. Fun story: When I brought a box of Timbits into the arena at Worlds 2024, I expected to have it confiscated by the security guard. The security guard asked me if the box only had Timbits in it. I said "yes" and the guard let me bring it in! Hopefully Saskatoon's security guards will be so kind...
At least in Japan, there's an overlap between baseball fans and figure skating fans. Back when I went to the World Championships in 2023 in Saitama, Japan, there were some people in front of me watching the World Baseball Classic on their phones at the same time that the pairs event was happening... (Note that I have nothing riding on the outcome of the World Series; I'm just glad that my hometown Padres seem to be doing well these days).Game 6 (and 7, if necessary) of the World Series overlap with Day 1 and Day 2 of Skate Canada, so will not be surprised if that takes precedence for a lot of people. (Not that the Venn Diagram overlap of skating fans and baseball fans is very big, probably.) Hoping that the Blue Jays can pull out a win on Friday and git 'er done, so my attention will not be divided.
Timbits are basically Tim Hortons' version of doughnut holes. If you like doughnut holes you'll definitely like Timbits.Sorry to show my ignorance in front of all the Canadians on the forum, but what are Timbits actually? I watch a lot of Canadian TV and have heard a lot of comments about Timbits but don’t really know what they are.
I did make sure to have some Poutine last year in Halifax: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WLCcyKqXajU&list=RDWLCcyKqXajU&start_radio=1&pp=ygUfdGhlIG5pZ2h0IHRoZXkgaW52ZW50ZWQgcG91dGluZaAHAQ==.
You cannot say you have had poutine unless it has been made in Quebec. You need the real kind of cheese. In other places, the cheese curds are refrigerated and turn harder. In Quebec, the cheese is kept room temperature = fresh cheese. The only place I have had fresh cheese curds of all places outside Quebec was in Charlevoix, but not Charlevoix, QC... but Charlevoix, MichiganSorry to show my ignorance in front of all the Canadians on the forum, but what are Timbits actually? Did you have to bribe him by giving him one of your Timbits? When I brought a box of Timbits into the arena at Worlds 2024, I expected to have it confiscated by the security guard. The security guard asked me if the box only had Timbits in it. I said "yes" and the guard let me bring it in!
No, he just let me bring the box in!Did you have to bribe him by giving him one of your Timbits?
Tim Horton's also has good prices, even in places where they usually charge "premium" ones. In Kelowna, I bought coffee at the airport while I was waiting to pick up my daughter, and it was much cheaper than buying anything at the arena.I'm guessing the usual staples of arena food: pizza, hot dogs, popcorn... *sigh* But since this is Canada, they should have poutine, and I wonder if it's any good...
I'm going to be watching this from home, but I whenever I go to Canada, I make sure to go to the local Tim Hortons. It's much better than most American fast food places, imo. They have tasty baked goods and sandwiches and plenty of teas and coffees to choose from.

I'm pretty sure I went to that exact Tim Hortons before I left Kelowna after Skate Canada 2019! I believe I had an Impossible breakfast sandwich, which leads me to another good point about Tim Hortons: it has a nice selection of vegetarian food!Tim Horton's also has good prices, even in places where they usually charge "premium" ones. A lot of Canadian airports have Tim Hortons.
