2026 Pacific Coast Sectional Singles and U.S. Ice Dance Final

Floręs & Jepson were dressed like they came from The Matrix and skated very well in their voidy program. I never thought of ice dance as voidy - this is different. Will need to rewatch to digest it more.
Caroline & Brendan Mullen used the same music as LaLa and were cruising until Brendan fell on a twizzle.
Vanessa & Anton were very dramatic and very sharp
Amy & Jonathan were also very sharp
Mikela & Karl stole the show and made great improvement in their skating skills and again stole my heart skating to 100% pure love baby don't hurt me
(music blocked by copyright- sorry but doing this to their music is a crime)

Fun event. I have been up 20 hours cleaning the yard and am very tired so I feel like I may have some music details mixed up.
I feel really bad for Caroline & Brendan who were looking very sharp except for his twizzle fall.

If im remembering correctly I feel like they had a fall during last years sectionals as well in the RD, when you watch so much skating it starts to blur together but I think they did
 
I see the Kartashovs have moved up to Novice. They look so tiny!
 
I’m struck by how much more adventurous the music choices of the lower-level teams competing here are, as compared to those of the more competitive teams we all know and love.
Here’s hoping that Pham/Spiridonov qualify for Nationals, so we can enjoy a bit of Nirvana

I was going to mention this. The junior teams have some fun choices.
 
Ok how many novices go to Nationals? I’m invested. The Kartashovs were in 3rd.

Sorry I missed the first three couples of Group 1

Big drama
Watching junior free. As I suspected Ryan Hu & Michelle Deych had to stop partway through the free dance, with Ryan wincing and touching his forehead - perhaps aftermath of yesterday's rotational fall. After a really long break, the continued the program and are currently in first place.

Very brave to skate. They started in 11th place and ten qualify.
They did move up on the team above them.

Group 2
The Fugates skated to the Cruella soundtrack. She is playing the part very well to terrorize her brother. They skated well and now lead.

The Fischers came out dressed in neon and skated well enough to move into fourth just behind Deych & Hu.

Loving Carhart & Bledsoe - a lovely classical program done in waltz tempo (heaven!).
Also gorgeous costumes. They move into second.

Sophia & Wiles skate to The Matrix and land in fifth place.
