It looks like Phebe Bekker and James Hernandez have now been assigned to the Finlandia GP as replacements for the Finnish team who withdrew. That will mean that they are competing in GP events two weeks in a row (and on opposite sides of the world!).
and British Nationals the following weekend, too![]()
Great that they are getting a second GP. But not great that it means they are now having to do back-to-back-to-back events.

Usually when this situation occurs, the scores go down with each event. And we do not want them to have low scores at Nationals.
This system that the ISU uses for re-allocating Senior GP slots really is not user-friendly for the skaters. It needs to be more flexible, and the ISU need to use a bit of common sense. It is not fair that skaters are effectively forced to take the first slot that is offered to them, regardless of whether it is suitable for them to compete at that particular event or not, because they know they won't get offered a slot again if they turn it down.
Is it any wonder I wish that there were 8 Senior GP's with 16 slots in all categories at each event? With more slots to start with, there would be less need for the ISU to be so strict and ruthless in their re-allocation system.
