Daria Danilova & Michel Tsiba

And Daria and Michel remained in 5th place. Not too bad a start of the season, but not very good either, They were behind couples from whom they've won last season. Let's see where it goes this season (I so hope they improve, they've got to go the OG, it would be a historical first!)

What is the score they need to reach?
Will cheer extra loud for them at Nebelhorn in three weeks!

I don't exactly know. Presumably the score which was reached at 14th place World's 2025 (but if it's the TES or overall score, I really don't know) and they have to reach it twice in the fall. But they may choose the competitions, so it won't be this one. Thanks for cheering for them at Nebelhorn. I will do too, but from behind the labtop!

FWIW I will be cheering hard for them too. 🥳

Well, they have to get 173,89 total score in a competition this fall to make the Olympic dream a reality. Let's hope they allready achieve this at Nebelhorn. Off to a good start with an SB for their short!

Well, I think I jinxed it. Daria and Michel's FS was disastrous with a very, very scary fall near the end. They did not seem to need medical attention, so that's a relief. But still, poor Michel and Daria. Some way to go yet.

I think the competitions that count for them are determined, it's not like they get the score at one comp they're doing and that's it...
And yes, that fall was scary. But they seemed okay. He was visibly frustrated in the K&C.

I am so nervous for them. Yes, they've got two chances to get a score of 173.89 and it's the first one this weekend at NHK. But I so wish for them to get it! I want them at the OG.

Daria and Michel are in Japan. They are trying to enjoy their being there (both Daria and Michel love competing in Japan) but in the back of their minds, there still is the challenge to get enough points so that the Dutch Olympic Committee will be satisfied. Michel's shoulder is fully healed, and in his words: they've gotten some more leverage on their two programmes. I certainly hope so.

Edit: I forgot to note that they are both learning Japanese. Not so much studying lately, but they intend to pick it up as soon as possible.

I don't know if the petition helped, but Daria and Michel are going to Milan! Here's what I posted in the Dutch Figure Skating thread:

On the Dutch Skating website there was some elaboration. Daria and Michel were delirious that can go after all. It's a life long dream that now has become reality. They want to thank everyone who has supported them, and also thank the Dutch Skating Federation and the Dutch Olympic Committee for their faith in them. They are going to be the first pair in history to represent The Netherlands, and they are proud to do so. The Dutch Olympic Committee thought their were sufficient grounds to send them, despite them not achieving the additional requirements. They had already qualified according to the International rules (and Daria had already got her Dutch citizenship earlier on).
