I'm so proud happy for both boys!

If I'm correct, JSF will decide to send Kazuki to Olys and Kao to WC and 4CC
The battle all along was for the 3rd WC spot, not Olys~

Really? I think this would have been likely if Kao was ahead of Kazuki but not on the podium but doesn't Kao being on the podium make it very likely he goes to the Olympics?

I personally far prefer Kazuki but I don't think his performance this season was enough ahead to warrant the Olympics, was it?

Kao earned his way into the Olympic selection criteria with his bronze medal here at Nationals, and he finished so far above Kazuki at this event (32 points) that it's hard to imagine Kao won't go. They both earned a GP medal this season, and Kao seems to be trending upwards.

Why would JSF send Kazuki instead of Kao to Olys? Especially that Kao is on the podium, it will be very awkward for JSF not to choose him, no?

Remember two years ago when the last two groups skated clean and we were all like….Wait, what’s wrong with Kagiyama?!? Just overcome with emotion I hope. As I was saying…we were all like “This is going to be better than Worlds!” Well the Japanese men are a far cry from that now. That was not a good competition. The good news is that the Olympic team should be simple: Kagiyama, Sato, Miura.

I wanted Tomono to go for sentimental reasons. Him going to the Olympics for the first time in his last competitive year would have been awesome. I wish Miura would have been cleaner in his free so it would have been completely out of reach regardless of how Tomono skated. But this way, the regret will eat at him.

Italy France and Kazakstan judges will do everything to prop their skaters up. Silver is genuinely in question if he doesn't deliver at the Olympics. Not even considering what they're willing to do for Gumenik. This is why I said they should've been propping up Shun too. Not even to surpass Yuma, but to say "Ilia might be the class of the field but the rest of you aren't touching our skaters"

One is easier to take down when it matters and he doesn't go clean. Even if JSF does support Shun, the others know how to play the game and when to strike. Maybe not Kazakhstan, but the other two....

Yuma grew needles it's a fact, he's going to win of course, but i feel Shun should get the title...on this note time for my lunch break. see you in Saint Petersburg

I would've had them a lot closer overall, Shun was robbed in PCS in both segments but there's a good case for Yuma taking the title (by a slim margin) because of his SP brilliance and the skating skills gap between the two.

I want to believe this but my common sense has unfortunately come back....

I will not be missing JNats 2025 Men any time in the future, such pain and misery
