A solid skate from Sena, he looked really off-axis with the 4S so I'm impressed he landed it. The rest of the elements were well-executed, I just want a bit more transitional content between the jumps. He did such a good job with the step sequence though, I love the energy and the patterning on that element. Also, this costume is amazing, Sena is always so well dressed. It looks like something straight out of a fantasy movie.

Rio Nakata's interview after SP:

"(Last night) I was so nervous I woke up every two hours. (While I was sleeping) I dreamed about a skating competition, and I got like 111 points in the free skate. I was so nervous, but when I woke up it was just a dream (laughs). The next time I went back to sleep, I got like 180 points in the free skate, and I thought, 'Yes!', but it was just a dream again (laughs). I guess I was sleep-deprived, and I couldn't move in the morning. I've never been so nervous."

🤣🤣🤣

Another terrible Yesterday cover but Shunsuke didn't splat so yay I guess? I really don't know why he goes for the quads in the short, they've never been super consistent for him. He would've gotten like 6 more points with a clean 3F. I love his passion in the step sequence.

If ShunShun doesn't make the FS (again!) I'm going to cry~

ShunShun and Hana should just do Pairs together...
How many times have I suggested that

Kagiyama Yuma's interview after SP:

"Because this was the All Japan Championships and the Olympic Trials, I was feeling very nervous when I took the starting pose. But what I need to do is the same in every competition, so with that mindset, I was able to perform well from start to finish. As for the (triple) Axel, I couldn't stop the rotation completely and lost my balance. It was still within the acceptable range, so I'll make sure to adjust it properly for tomorrow."

Considering they're both in Kinoshita Academy I can see them either in this or Ice Dance.

Rio 😂 😂 😂 😂 he reminds me of Kao's chaos in interviews LOL.

This season has been really rough for Tatsuya, and it's a shame that's continued here, but he fought for everything. I hope he plays it safer tomorrow and just does the 4S, I think going for an easier-but-cleaner layout might help him vault over some messier programs.

fix your spins and land that 4T with your max quality and he's easily over 100

So close to brilliance from Kao, just the tight 4T landing but this was his best short in years. This program is still utterly fantastic; Kao has such attack and energy throughout and it matches perfectly with his speed and style of skating. His quads, when done well, are also some of the best in the business, he just so happens to also be a terrifying splatter. I was happy to hear that Kao claims to be fully healed and pain-free, so even if he misses the Olympic team, he can start working towards next season without injury looming over him. Please, please work on your spins though, they are costing you soooo many points in GOE and he could lose a lot of levels based on his positions.
