I am currently writing out the Fan Fest reports for Isabella Flores / Linus Colmor Jepsen and Emilea Zingas / Vadym Kolesnik, and I've run into a problem.

I realise that using the ISU style Entries / Results pages is new for American competitions, and there are bound to be teething problems. But something has gone badly wrong with the Time Schedule PDF for the Senior Free Dance. It says the resurfacing is taking 3 hours!

Does anybody know what the correct times are?

On the whole, I'm delighted that the ISU style Entries / Results pages are now being used. I found the old style ones used in America so hard to follow, and it was always so frustrating that they did not include Time Schedule PDF's. But, I hate the way that rather than go the whole hog, they have only done it for the Seniors. The other levels are still using the old style pages.

Either go all in, or don't bother changing at all! This half and half situation is just making things more complicated for the fans.

It is always a pet hate of mine when an event has more than one set of Entries / Results pages. Because it makes it so hard to follow what order things are happening in. Hey, for example, this week's European Criterium event, the Sofia Trophy, has THREE sets of Entries / Results pages. It was only by accident that I stumbled across the third set of Entries / Results pages, and hence discovered that there was also Solo Dancing happening.

Sorry for going off on a tangent.

Per the USFS color-coded schedule, it is correct that after the first group of dance ends, about three hours will elapse before the second group of dance begins.

(My guess would be that the results software does not allow the option of calling the interval anything other than "Ice Resurfacing."
USFS has made clear on all other schedules that a lot more than resurfacing is happening during the interval.)

Wow! 😲

How strange to have the competition split like that. For a start, it's not fair on the audience. There they are getting into a competition, and then after the first group, they have to wait around for a few hours before coming back for the rest of it.

I know we criticise the decisions of the Judges and Technical Panel a lot, but that is not fair on them either, starting their work and then having to break away and wait around a few hours to finish it. Any interruption is not good for consistency. Not to mention, it opens the door up to suggestions that they could be involved in dodgy dealings during that time.

Well, at least now I know that there wasn't a glitch in the system, and that the times are reliable. But, now I have the dilemma as to what time to put up the post for Zingas / Kolesnik, who are skating after the long interval. Do I put it up at an exact number of hours before the start of Group 1 (like I would normally do, and like I will be doing for Flores / Colmor Jepsen), or an exact number of hours before the start of Group 2? 🤔

Thank you for the explanation   :points:

:thank:

Maybe be put the report up after the end time given for the end of Z&K's program in the Start Times pdf file.

Those files have been accurate so far.

I get to trek to the box office after each session because they will only give me a single handicapped ticket per session.

I hate the NBC technical scoreboard. Who cares what the max with 5 GOEs is? And we will have to watch this at the Olympics. Better yet, NBC should use the Canadians technical scoreboard. I took a screenshot but can't figure out how to embed it.

Name of competitor
Name of element
Base # GOE #
Total Tech score
Leader's tech score.

Well, that was quite the voiceover to start.....begging someone not to die.

LOL

(yes, I know it's a "Ghost" program)
