Beau Callahan and Vladimir Furman (Canada, Pairs) have split. Beau is looking for a new partner per her Instagram post.
Charly is partnered with Nina Ouellette, they'll be Seniors. With David S, he lives in Ottawa so he'd be closer to partnering with Beau rather than Hetty. He may be able to find someone in Ottawa-Gatineau looking to switchWho is available for Beau to pair up with? I don't think she is advanced enough technically for Charly. Would she and David S fit if she was willing to relocate to Ontario? I will admit that I still fancy the idea of Hetty Shi and David as a pair, although I don't think there's ever been any indication of Hetty considering pairs.
I agree that she should be incredibly proud of her performances. Her jumps were excellent, and I agree should probably have received higher GOE - although apart from the salchow they didn't have a ton of transitions going into them, so I think that's definitely where she could improve next year to bump the GOE a bit higher.Gabby did well for sure but for me the star Canadian Lady was Fee Ann. Too bad she was not better known by International judges cause I think she should have been 5 or 6 points higher here, especially when you compare her jumps with some of the other ladies who got much higher GOE. Please send her out more.
From Gabby's comments, it's looking like she's planning on one more season.

Oh no!! Poor BeauAdding on, Callahan/Furman split, Beau is looking for a new partner. Vladimir was posting stories of practicing jumps, maybe he's planning on singles again.
“I think it was so much better for so many reasons. A big thing is the crowd. But while taking so much time off, I had opportunity to really reflect on my career leading up to this point,” he said. “What really kept me going and kept me motivated to better myself was definitely skating in environments like this, especially after coming off at that time, 2024 Worlds, which was a crazy experience for me. You know, sold out Bell Centre (in Montreal). So, yeah, definitely, I train every day for moments like these.”
I was under the impression that she was using Lion King for Nationals but not for the Olympics. I even thought it was a bit unfair for her to win an Olympic spot with a program that she couldn't use there. Has anyone heard anything about the status of Lion King from any other source? Perhaps it was discussed in the stream. The good news for Skate Canada is that Schizas appears to be tracking in the right direction as Milan draws closer, and the fact she can take her “Lion King” short program with her to Italy is an added shot of confidence.

“It was after I did sectionals (in the fall) with our younger skaters. I took a four-day trip to Aruba and on the plane, I got an email from Debra (Armstrong, Skate Canada’s CEO) saying they were able to clear the second and third pieces of music, right out of the blue,” said Nancy Lemaire, Schizas’ coach at the Milton Skating Club, who used “a huge relief” to describe her reaction to that rather important piece of news.
“We were actually thinking we were going to have to go back to ‘The Black Swan’ (they had plans to use older versions of music by Tchaikovsky; the version they had used earlier in the season had not received music rights clearance). It’s a huge relief.”
“A happy surprise,” Schizas called it.
The opening section of music in the program, which lasts about 35 seconds, didn’t receive the go ahead. But there is already a Plan B in place for that part of the program, to complete the circle of its life, if you will.
“We’re still looking at the first piece, the first 35 seconds, but we’ve offered up a couple of different options, and the guy who works for Skate Canada clearing music is looking into it,” said Lemaire.
We have a group of very good 'second tier' ladies who I hope continue to develop over the next few years. Be nice to see a new rivalry develop like in the days of Gabby, Katelyn and Alaine. They pushed each other to better things which resulted in GP, 4CC, World and even Olympic medals.
if it's unfair for Maddie imagine how Fabbri Ayer must feel. Marie-Jade and Romain have never even performed their new RD in competition and used the Prince one they knew they definitely couldn't use in order to qualify. I am not blaming them for doing that. It's am just saying that Maddie is certainly not the only nor worst example of using a program to qualify that may or may not be reused at the games.Seeing Rob Brodie quoted reminded me of something he said in his Nationals article

In a way, going to an event in person makes you more detached from what is going on than if you streamed it at home. Though in Gatineau, they showed the stream (complete with score wart) on the screen above the middle of the ice. Unfortunately it was too small to read without binoculars, though you could see the red/green of the GOEs. Where I wish I had binoculars was in reading the standings they show after each skater. Again, I could see the placement because the current skater was in red, but I couldn't read the scores.
