4th Maria Olszewska Memorial | Feb 24 - Mar 1

And I am afraid that this is where I leave you for food.

Unfortuantely, the stream will undoubtedly be gone by the time I come back.

So, all the best to those that I will miss.

That's a good score for Breau/Che, and they get their minimums for next season too! They should definitely be getting a JGP 😁 (I'm only watching the scores, not the stream)

The same story as yesterday. Getting frozen now and then. After that disappearing completely. Today I have managed to see all 5 Junior FDs and half of the Senior final couple FD. I wonder if there is any chance to see the replays of this event. I am interested only in Junior and Senior categories.

After two days of dancing, Day 3 marks the start of the Singles Skating. For most of the day, we are on the "Additional Groups" Entries / Results page. But then in the evening, we move to the ISU Entries / Results page for the Advanced Novices.

Livestream for the Initial Under 9 Ladies FS is now on air.

Here is the link for the livestream:

Just be aware that, if the stream goes off air for whatever reason, everything up to that point is lost. And the stream stops working as soon as the broadcast ends, regardless of whether you are watching LIVE or playing catch-up.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

The final girl in the Initial Under 12 competition was skating to that weird sounding cover of Lady Gaga's "Bloody Mary". And I started getting all nostalgic about my kid Olivia Bazlova's programme to the original version of that song.

And then I noticed - this girl has the same first name. Well, with the Polish spelling of Oliwia.

She finishes in 2nd position.

I take it that there was nobody left in the Advanced Novice B Under 18 Ladies competition, because we only had the three Bronze Under 12 boys on the ice during that Warm-Up.

CaroLiza_fan

Never seen that happen before.

The seventh girl to skate in the Silver Under 15 competition, Barbara NENKO (POL), started off skating to the trailerised version of "Hit The Road Jack". And then after a while it switched to the proper version!

And it really made a difference to the programme. It suddenly became a lot more lively and full of energy!

She goes into 2nd position.

Wow! Due to withdrawals and an already longer than normal interval, it looks like we now have a 45 minute break.

It's a pity they didn't close it up, because I am going to miss a chunk later due to eating. But, I suppose they can't move the start of the ISU competitions forward by as much as 30 minutes. It would really mess up the skaters' preparations.

See you at half past, then, for the Advanced Novices.

Finally! We're back!

And we move into the ISU part of the event for an Advanced Novice double-bill to finish the day. 8 boys, followed by 22 girls.

Boys up first. 8 in total: 4 from Canada, and 4 from Poland.

The last of the boys, Szymon JAKUBOWSKI (POL) skated to "Sun Goes Down" by David Jordan.

I love that song, but have never seen anybody skate to it before. So, it was a nice surprise.

He finishes in 8th position.

I didn't realise that the stream had drifted 5 minutes behind during the long break before the boys. So I have just jumped forward, and the Warm-Up for the girls is just finishing now.

And I am afraid that, after seeing the two Ukrainian girls, this is where I have to leave you for food.

I hope to be back in time for the all-Polish Group 2.

CaroLiza_fan

Mmmm. They're running very late. I was back well before the Group 2 Warm-Up started.

Unfortunately, the stream had mis-behaved while I was eating, so I couldn't take the opportunity to watch any of the skaters I had missed. 😞

Right, six Polish girls now on the ice!

Erm, Lia. Have you been sleeping for the past 8 weeks? It's the final days of February. It's not New Year's Day.

Only joking! (That was a reference to her music always being played as an encore at the Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Day Concert).

I'm sure it has happened many times over the years, but I can't remember seeing anybody skating to the "Blue Danube" before.

And that programme from Lia CHO (CAN) was absolutely beautiful!

She goes into a massive lead (13.99 points). And deservedly so!

Awwww! She was so surprised when the scores were announced!

Do they have to do a + loop combo and lutz as solo jump?
New SP for Lia?

I think Lia used her programs from last season that she used for Novice competition instead of making a Novice version of her Junior programs (she was wearing her Romeo and Juliet costume for the Cranberry Cup Novice podium, so I think that's what she'll do tomorrow).

Novice program requirements for 2025-26 are here, the combo must be a double and a double or a double and a triple, with the second jump required to be a loop (either double or triple.) The solo jump can't be the same as the combo jumps or the axel. The required jump for Juniors next season is the lutz, so not a bad choice to use it here for her solo jump.

Day 4 starts on the Interclub Entries / Results page with an Initial Under 7 double-bill, but the rest of the day is all on the ISU Entries / Results page. And we even have a bit of Pairs action, courtesy of a Canadian Junior partnership!

Livestream for the Initial Under 7 competitions is now on air.

Imagine being Ukrainian, and being named "Eterri". :slink:

In all seriousness, that was so cute. This tiny little girl dressed in a black jumpsuit with brown tutu, and skating to "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" from the original version of "The Lion King".

She goes into 7th position.
