Nice review! I've seen Isabeau single or double her jumps when she's doing exhibitions before, not unusual.I was in attendance at the Greensboro NC stop last night and the SOI show was so enjoyable. There were spectators around me who kept saying the show is sick and wonderful and I heard so many wows and that was magical and mesmerizing. Spectators were also saying they would love to go to a great show like this every year. Kudos to Kurt Browning and Alissa Czisny for injecting some of the magic that the old school SOI shows were known for. The group numbers and solo numbers were all very entertaining! My hubby, who is not really a skating fan, said he never felt bored and that the show was very well paced and exciting.
The highlights last night were definitely Jason Brown, Alysa Liu, Ilia Malinin and Amber Glenn. The 4 of them definitely received the loudest applause and had the most dynamic performances.
Ilia performed 4 backflips in a row during his last solo number and that really got the crowd going. He performed some very nice 3Lutzes and 3flips.
Alysa as usual was on with her jumps. She performed clean 3Lutz, 3flip and 2Axel in her “Promise” SP. She also did a clean 3flip in her “Stateside” exhibition.
Amber was also on. She performed clean 3-turns into 3loop (I said to my hubby that is the jump that betrayed her in the Olympic SP), 3flip and 2Axel in her “Like a Prayer” SP. She also did a clean 3flip in her “That’s Life” exhibition.
Jason IMO engaged the audience like no other. My hubby has always said that Jason is his skating crush. I credited his performance ability to the fact that he has been skating for longer than any other cast member with the exception of Evan Bates. Also, his happy-go-lucky, carefree personality; he really just brings the arena to life and he has such a bright aura at all times. His extension, musicality and love for the sport are second to none. He performed some very nice 3Lutzes and 3flips. The audience absolutely loved his “Friend Like Me” exhibition.
I was also wondering if something was off with Isabeau Levito. In her “Material Girl” exhibition, she only managed a 1Axel and in her Sophia Loren medley SP, she only did a 2flip and a 1Axel. Her spins were lovely though.
Thanks to all the skaters for creating a terrific and memorable evening!!!
There are a lot of fun videos on You Tube. This was great to see "the boys" dance!
I had lots of fun at so many Friends of Figure Skating Breakfasts talking with my heros that the star gazer ticket doesnt hold much charm. I have pics of Me and my skaters since Nats 2013 Omaha...so much fun to talk to. I think over the years I have had 7 selfies with Amber. I showed her one from 2013 and she screamed, got a big kick out of it and took a pic of it. Gracie and I even got a write up in "Skating" magazine. Enjoy them!Good news! I checked again today and they were selling the stargazer passes for Anaheim again so I got one .. yay!
Week 4 recap by Isabeau and Jason:
The last SOI show I went to had Mirai Nagasu. It was a short run and the arena had about 30 percent attendence. This one will be packed on the 21st of May. My wife can not believe they will be charging 27 bucks to park....I took a bunch of videos last Sunday at the Long Island Show as well as some short clips during the Stargazer portion. My videos are not close up as they were taken from the last row of the lower bowl but I enjoyed taking them. I have videos of Alysa, Ilia, Isabeau, C/B, Amber, K/O, Z/K and of course Jason. His Spiegel im Spiegel was such a highlight for me - his spins and spirals in this program are just mesmerizing.
I also attended the SOLD OUT May 1st show in Newark but went with a friend and wanted to just enjoy without taking videos.
It was quite an experience going to two packed SOI shows over a weekend. The last SOI I attended was in Newark in 2022 and it was maybe 70% full in the lower bowl. I hope skating's popularity continues to grow and the SOI tour will go to more cities in the off Olympic years.
She still lives in the last century. She hasnt been to the area since they put in a soccer stadium and a world class variable geometry track and field arena....next to the old ArenaOK, situation resolved. And a good lesson. I have had an account with TicketsWest since the turn of the Century. They asked me at the time for my daytime phone number and after hours phone number. I did some detective work after I found out they have no phone number and only an email for customer assistance, and refused to call me to straighten this out. Their only answer was I needed to come down and pick up the tickets at the box office. I emailed them back that their software was faulty and they never asked me for my cell phone number over the years. Suddenly, a link to the tickets appeared in my texts and I put them in my Google Wallet, made screen shots, and printed them out. I rechecked my account and Voila! It now had my cell phone number. (Also, they have 5 different log in sections depending on what you want to see. So My login now works on my phone in the proper section.I have a question about electronic tickets since I am from the last century.
If I go to my TicketsWest account on my desktop, it clearly shows that I have purchased my two tickets for SOI. It says my tickets will be delivered electronically to my phone (there is no TicketsWest app. you just log into your account) So I logged into my account on my phone and nothing. The website on my desktop does say tickets will be sent out 24 hours in advance??????? Is this normal?

Don't be surprised if you see another forum member there.Glad it works!
Looking forward to hearing how the show goes. My husband and I are going to the one the next day in Wenatchee. The last SOI show I went to was in 2022 (didn't have to travel for this one, they had a Boise stop that year). SLC would have been a little closer, but I would have had to take time off.
I'm enjoying everyone's pictures/videos/reviews.
