The problem with mass submission is that it could extend processing time. Unless they do AI check, not human audit of SM. I assume that these 4 have AIN. I hope we'll start hearing who gets cleared and for how long soon.

I don't think will be a mass submission.. they will submit the "russian team" and the alternative ( or the top 10)... there are limit places in challengers .. and probably the russian federation will want to win challengers and get PBs .. and it's true in men and women they already have the 4 ( and probably they already have a decision about B/K since since they were submit buy the olympics)
I think the problem will be the juniors ... send a senior that can still compete in juniors or send juniors

Because scoring of his own skating exists disparate of how others performed, and he was overscored for nearly everything including his non-existent speed and bad jumps.

What do you mean by Fifa didn't have any leverage ? All the athletes have made it to the USA/CAN/MEX. I think I heard one referee from Somalia didn't manage to get in but the players all did.

Going to point out this isn't true and Infantino admitted that FIFA is powerless to overrule national governments.
- Ghana's midfielder Thomas Partey was denied entry into Canada and thus did not play Ghana's first group stage match vs Panama.
- The somali referee was denied entry to the US and thus dropped from roster.
- 15 Iranian football officials and staffers were denied entry into the US + Iran was not allowed to train in US + Iran had to leave US immediately after all their matches
- For the world cup, Canada only approved 1/3rd of visas for fans from countries that needed one (most of the world)

Gumenik finished 6th at the Olympics. I don't see how he was underscored. I cannot see how he should have placed any higher for what he put on the ice. I also do not think he should have placed much lower. He has base value to be considered a threat but not quite the whole package to pretend to a championship podium. YMMV

Of course but this is not what I am talking about I am talking about the athletes themselves. It's something that is part of the application bids and agreements when organizing countries are selected for big events : they must not discriminate athletes based on their passports.
So in that way, FIFA, IOC, ISU all have a certain power because they can decide not to allow games/championships/Grand Prix events if they are suspicious that athletes will be denied entry.

Nothing to do with his passport. Thomas Partey was denied entry because he is facing rape and sexual assault charges.

Yes. I have mentioned that. This is where some countries will mark their territories. They cannot deny athletes but they certainly can limit access to officials and staff.

This I found was out of line but at the same time, perhaps a safety measure to protect the athletes.

And again, fans. Those are coming on a tourist visa and can be refused entry for a lot of reasons like simple improper documentation or like Partey, criminal charges or whatever. FiFA doesn't really have a say on tourists traveling to host countries. What matters is that all the footballers (minus one with criminal allegations/charges against him) got to play the Cup.

This just speaks to fact that countries will enforce their immigration laws. And Partey is a valid example of this, he didn't qualify under Canadian immigration rules and thus was barred. If a skater does not qualify under a country's immigration rules (for any number of reasons including their nationality), they will not be admitted and ISU/IOC can't do much about that.

Whether in future that causes an issue for event hosting is another issue. But for the coming year it's a possibility (because I doubt they are going to move events in such a short time period).

Thanks for providing the quite.But again, this is just about tourists. Yes, they are coming for the world cup but that doesn't matter. They are tourists and they could be coming to see Niagara falls and would also be rejected. That's not the point I'm making.

If an athlete has a criminal record, he won't be admitted in many countries just like any other person with a similar record.

So here we not talking about denial of entry based solely on the athlete's passport but on other factors. Canada will not be stopping Russian athletes as long as they submit their documents in time.
