I don't get it. Does that mean all the comps, GPs, Worlds, Nationals will have no music for live streams?IMPORTANT: Please Read This!

No, it was streamed on USFS' YouTube page. I remember because I was on a family trip in VA, and just didn't have the time to watch live, or really catch up on the replays before they put the annoying music over the top of them.

I interpret the statement as if you attempt to post a vid where the lawyers have not given their blessing, you could be sued.
There appears to be a way where a skater...say named "Kim", can buy the vid of her skate and add the audio and post it.
All I can tell you is at the end of the last season, AI detected my Proton VPN and and shut me down from watching the ISU channel.
Just a guess, but in the case of Cranbury, skaters are allowed to show up and use music and no one seems to care until it is re-broadcast.
The solution to all this madness is simple of course. If an artist like Sarah Brightman loves hearing her music used by skaters, she can include it in a pool that can be accessed by any Am. skater and rebroadcast by anyone. Anytime, Anywhere (pun intended) And so can other musicians.
You wont believe me, but right now there are lawsuits over which fast food places can use the Name "Bucky Beaver" All of this is not new, of course. The 3 Wright Brothers and their sister. tried to patent something called "Wing Warping" and sued every aircraft manufactures around the world. Europe laughed at them. When Henry Ford got wind of this and that the patent attorney and the patent judge were going up against Glenn Curtiss, the real father of American aviation, he found out they were the same people who claimed he could not make automobiles. Mr. Ford was not a kind man. So he brought Curtiss into his office and said, "Mr. Curtiss, you have the full force and weight of my entire legal dept to use in this case."
Ford basically saved American Aviation.
We need someone with courage to save American skating.

Even with a limited field, there are still interesting little things to look for among the men.
- The Handsome Selevko makes his season debut. Who knows what we'll get.
- I've always enjoyed Kai Kovar's skating.
- But most of all, I want to see what Daniel Martynov unleashes upon us. After the worst programs in the history of skating (I expected Dick Button to rise from his grave in protest), which made me "unfan" him last year, he has a chance to win me back. Fingers crossed.

I do not understand why there are no Canadian seniors at this event. You'd think the expense would be minimal to Skate Canada (they've got plenty of juniors and novices competing), and there are ranking points at stake against a relatively weak field. I just looked at the prediction game, and most people are picking Martynov for the silver. Canadian men are not so weak that they can't beat Martynov or even Selevko if the winds are favorable.On the plus side, Canadians.

It's a great country...if you are traveling from Tibet, you may need a Yak. But you will meet lots of interesting people along the way.
