If by effortless grace you mean she crawls around the ice like she's got superglue on her blades...
My comment was in response to another comment that Irina Slutskaya and Sarah Hughes were ugly, and that if looks had anything to do with scoring, neither would have ever won anything. To that I say, Caroline is not all that pretty, either. Not at all...
She's not so tiny anymore, anyway.

Kiira and Tanith are not bad. The latter's a bit too skinny for my personal taste though. Ando wears a lot of make-up. Don't know any of the others.

well, to each its own, for me Zhang is very pretty on the ice, her overall image (costume, makeup etc...) is always pleasant to look at. I have to say her team is doing a wonderful job.

I think, by my Asian standards, that Caroline is quite pretty!
I think she's pretty by any standards. But then again I think Alissa is pretty too, even with the big teeth.

I've never seen her in person but I've indeed heard that TV doesn't do her justice.
I think Yu-Na said something in her blog in 2007, commenting on a picture of Kimmie and her at the Gala, about Kimmie being "Beautiful as always".

In her exhibitions, even when she makes mistakes, Caroline is beautiful. In her competitions this year, she has only been pretty.

Looking at the protocols of the SPs and LPs, Caroline completed a total of 9 triples and 2 2As. Rachael completed 8 triples and 2 2As and Alissa completed 5 triples and 3 2As. Caroline's triples were of lower quality as punctuated by the !s. The reason that Caroline and Rachael ended up below Alissa had just as much to do with the triple penalty that comes with the 3F+3T< as much as the presentation scores.

I heard that too. And then I got to find out for myself. And take my word for it- it doesn't.

Anyway, I think the issue of looks and beauty is a very touchy, subjective topic that really should be approached with caution because it can quickly get nasty (in the negative sense, not the gross sense). What I like isn't what you like, and that may be not what she likes. No taste is "right" or "wrong". As soon as the topic turned this direction I knew we could be in for a bumpy one. Other than a few insulting remarks, we seem to be getting back on the right track.

As for the three Medalists, I think placement order at 4CC's will say a lot about what we can expect in LA.

Placement will say a lot, but we may not like what it says? If Caroline does better than Alissa or Rachael ( very possible ), and Team USA fails to get our 3 spots back ( again, very possible ), the USFSA will be severely criticized for picking the wrong team.
