Wow, that last group threw down the gauntlet! What a treat for those who get to watch it in the arena. :thumbsup:

M/T - amazing! I would have had it first. I think they have better skating skills, spirals and presentation than the Zhangs. This is an outstanding program!

Zhangs - also fantastic. Not my cup of tea, usually, but this flew by.

P/T - clean, but by comparison not as inspired. The 3T were out of synch, the throw seemed to have less run out than M/T and Z/Z, and then there spins were messy as usual. Still, a solid performance.

Who has skated 2 clean programs back to back all season? They figure if they skate clean, they'll be up there, and they will. They scored a 53 with not even close to a flawless skate- there was the fall, the pitched forward landing on the throw, and I think they are going to get a lower level on their twist as well. They will score in the 60s with the top teams when they skate a clean short. I don't listen to Sandra Bezic, but the general hype around these two is deserved. They have several qualities that other teams just don't have. There just needs to be more time and patience with them.


On another note, I loved M/T's program! Beautifully done.

Last year when I saw M / B for the first time I predicted that this is the team which will win the next world medal for US. The only thing is just is not their time yet, they need more experience in competing at this level. I am watching this sport for almost 4 decades and statistics show, you have to be EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD to medal at your first worlds. They are quite good, but not G/G !!!

HAHA, I know. Of course, my feed works fine while watching Boitano, but during the two Chinese pairs, it shuts down and I miss both!

I agree. It would be better if they peak next season at the olympics, or at the worlds 2010. I am assuming the chinese teams will retire after Vancover and perhaps S&S, esp. if they win. Rockne and Keauna could easily medal then.

Ozerova/Enbert are probably the worst ranked russians in pair's event. I can't see any russian or soviet pair doing worst than this.

IMO, they have some of the best side by side spins in the world. Russians do unison well.

Exactly. They will be factoring in the medals through the next Olympic cycle for sure.

yeah, Aliona has been wearing that nasty pink thing all season. I really don't like their SP and the costumes make me hate it.

K/S usually need fashion help too. Glad to hear they got wise.

Their SP is fun techno/alien-esque so the oddball costumes fit the theme. Think of the Kerrs' FD last season.
