Mens' LP

I think at this moment, winning or not is not important. I'm so glad he skated well, that's more important! I still he got robbed for at least 4-5 points in the shorts. But whatever, I'm happy, he didn't disappoint Canada.

It's even more great that he skated that well with THAT pressure... figure skating watchers expecting a medal if not gold, and Skate Canada expecting the same. And he went out and delivered. Kudos for that.

For me its the Quads, I want to see HUGE quads and BIG technical jumps, double jumps are for Junior skaters so to reward Patrick for 'playing it safe' is sad to me., I want to see two quads and 8 triples IN EVERY PROGRAM, and Joubert brings that.

On paper, but it doesn't mean Joubert always performs 8 triples.

Like I said earlier in thread, notice how many of the men attempted a quad? Whether they botched it or landed it perfectly, their triples were a bloody mess too. Nobunari was by far the cleanest of the men of the men who attempted and landed a quad. If you're going to focus all your energy on perfecting the quad, then your triples should be up there too. Don't blow your triples or the rest of the non technical elements, just for the quad and expect your quad to carry you through.

It's not a surprise as to why people were  about Plushenko's Olympic performance. It was good to win but not the best for an Olympic win.

It's my first time seeing Contesti skate, but I (surprisingly) enjoyed it--it was funny, irreverent. Jumps could've better smoother though.

I think I (like the audience) just wanted to see something different.

I love this Italian guy!! I got to keep my eyes on him!! love his eye brows! so Italian looking

Interestingly enough he is born/raised in France, and only started competiting for Italy a few years back. He was speaking French when he got off the ice (ce n'est pas grave or something, meaning, it's not serious)

Yeah, this really proved that he can skate under pressure. I didn't come into this worlds with any expectation that he would win gold. I think it would be a great result (and improvement from last season) if he can win a medal of any colour.

And ditto on the SP. I thought he and Lysacek should be have been 1-2 in some order.

I'm disappointed thought that Canada won't have 3 spots, unless Chan wins, which unlikely...unless the top 2 bomb big time.

Considering it was Olympics, it was a fine win, these guys bomb in Worlds now. His jumps covered 1 mile on air, I really miss that!

Go Kozukaaaa!

Takahiko Kozuka

2a
3a barely held on
3f?
Something about this program really moves me
3r-2t-2r out of spread eagle
3z-2t
3r balance check
3a-2t
3z

Once again Kozuka was good but not as good as the short. He really needs a lighter vehicle for the long.

I have never really followed Takahiko's skating before but I LOVE it. He is totally one to be on the lookout for next year.

That happens if you rearrange the program before the last competition. I bet they wanted the 2 3As at the beginning, because he always fell on the 3A at the end.

And it didn't work out...

Hidden Czech now?
