Mens' LP

I'm not Evan's hugest fan but I'm absolutely thrilled for him. What an experience for him. Huge moment and he deserved it tonight.

Brian looks like he wants to hurt something or someone, but the other 2 look so thrilled and happy to be where they are. Actually, Patrick looks happier than Evan!

All in all.....

Congrats to the medalists, but this men's field leaves a lot to be desired....

ROBOTS GO AWAY! BRING BACK MY ARTISTS!!!:cry:

Ditto. I didn't find it to be a very exciting competition. But congrats to Evan and Patrick.

For Evan to win a WORLD title... how long has he waited. Don't know if people remember but he was Junior World SILVER medalist... THREE times... to three DIFFERENT gold medalists. Then not making it to Grand Prix Final... losing his National title... coming in THIRD for tha tmatter. What heart, good for him.

For Patrick - way to put it out there. Handled the pressure, sets him up beautifully for next year. Only 17! Someday gold will be his. Not if, but when.

My heart breaks for Canada, Vaughn was super, but 2 + 12 = 14... one place short of 3. Somewhere in Canada, a male singles skater's heart is sinking. Train hard!!

For Brian. I don't know. I have frankly always both admired his athleticism and brawn. At the same time, I have found him too uni-dimensional. I cannot say that he has really evolved since seeing for the first time at Europeans as a young gun 17 year old.

Was fascinating to see Tarasova backstage before the awards ceremony as shown by universal sports. She was imploring him to "never change... the moment you do, it is lost.." I suppose this is correct to say with but a year before the Olympics, but IMO it seems that is correct, but it is also correct because it is too late to change. If he can pull it all together, look out, but when the jumps aren't there, I'm not sure there is "enough"

One other thing, I love the use of US greats for everything from flower girls (US Nationals medalists) to awards ceremony presenters. Ken Shelley and Lise Marie Allen are lookin' good!! ;)

Now thast Evan is a world champ, is he going to retire and turn pro this year?

ITs my brithday and one would THINK that on my BIRTHDAY the skating results would go in my favor- but NO, my Zarestskis get robbed, so do the Kerrs, Evan wins a world title and Brian.....its just so heartbreaking a world title for Brian would have been the perfect birthday present.

I just feel empty. And robbed at my night (the sunrise just arrived). It was my first thought when I saw him attempt the jump after the steps, "he's to tired, he won't land it", it felt wrong. Horrible... Go home and lick your wounds, we'll wait for you next season (((((hugs))))).
Try to get some sleep here maybe, 6 am....

ITA, that was very lackluster and it clearly supports the argument to people who say that men's skating is not progressing with all this talk about artistry and transition emphasis.

Denis Ten was the brightest spot tonight.

She is just not Canadian.

Har? Canadian and scrapping choreography? Where is the logic here? She's Russian and therefore she doesn't mind scrapped choreography.

This isn't the first time it has happened. Sasha's Swan Lake was redone (butchered) by Robin Wagner.

Evan looks like he's thinking hard during the national anthem. Is he wondering 'crap, I should have come 2nd... the curse. THE CURSE!'

I meant she doesn't hold grudges and stop talking to former trainees. She is professional. Unlike some North American whiners.

Like I said its ridiculous

That both evan and joubert (a big wtf!) on pcs
and that even though there is such a thing as instant replay it all relies on one person to determine whether something was rotated or not. Neither of those two axels should have been determined clean. So I say, a quadless, axelless, artistryless world champion.
