Ladies SP

A little scary on the flip, but she should definitely be in front of Rachel! ETA: 6th???

(Please Mao, DON'T go for the 3Lo)...

I watch every GP competition and did not find any slaughtering.

Then you're completely biased against Americans. Let's table Rachael Flatt for a moment. Ashley Wagner was utterly nailed to the cross in one GP event. She had a fast, lovely and almost faultless program which was utterly trashed due to PCS. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Rachael has been hit but not that hard. I've never seen anyone hit as hard as Ashley.

So now US is getting a few more points for a change, instead of the eastern block. Shoe hurts on the other foot I guess?

Alena has great presentation! Yes, should have been above Rachael... Ah well.. Mao on the ice!!

OMG!!! Unbelievable!!!! Why don't we just hand the medals to all Americans and go home.
How? In what universe this was worth then Rachel Flatt?

Not bad for Leonova...

I was thinking I'd have this close to Flatt's score, which I would have had just a bit behind Meier... so the judges at least half agree with me ;-)

Omg mao is next.

Yes, she's very frightening. They should play the Darth Vader soundtrack.

Props to Mao for trying to hold down the outside edge. It looks like a flat. She might just get a ! for it. Her landings are to die for!

Flatt and Leonova have the same tech score, with Flatt slightly higher in PCS. Flatt leads 1.12 points. Not like she has a giant score over Leonova.

Gracielle Jeanne Tan - She's not going to make the final cut. However, to perform to the best of her ability in her hometown (trains in Anaheim), get a great response from the crowd, and move into (for the moment) first place. And, I am of Filipino decent - so I'm proud of her. Loved her reaction when she was done.

Just getting caught up (I slept sorry, it was nearing 3 am here in RP), proud of her too. The Philippine media barely followed the event, except for that front page picture of Dimalanta, there wasn't even a mention in the trad media about Filipinos competing in Worlds. And to think ISI gets so much coverage by TV networks.

Okay, back to reading the rest of the thread:love:

IMHO, Mao might be getting a < for her footwork flatz. She landed forward, chest down a little bit. On instant replay her edge is on a flat from what I can tell. She might be in 2nd if downgraded on her solo triple.

EDIT: Nevermind, I can't count rotations apparently.

Result update

Mao Asada (JPN) 35.90 + 30.16 = 66.06 #2

3F3Lo - nice but UR?
2Lz - :frown:
SpSq
FSSp
2A - good
CiSt
CoSp
LSp - beautiful

Moa Asada

ok, surely that 3-3 is ratified?? -- on replay, oh maybe not
2lz, wow, she's got a demons now
2a, lovely entry

what beautiful spins!

flow i think better than Rochette, though Rochette is a bit more polished and refined, if that counts for anything (as it should, but doesn't tend to do in COP)
But the 2lz is of course very costly, anyway.

Should be a clear 3rd (though debatably close to Fumie, if Fumie had the clear 3rd she deserved without the time deduction)..

and ahead of Miki -- that is a shame.

If she doubled her Lz, does that mean the 3-3 counted? That TES score is pretty high for a doubled solo jump.

Behind Joannie by 1 point. That's not too bad if she doubled the lutz I guess..

Wait, did Mao get lower pcs than Joannie?
