Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

Why every time I cant visit here, the topic adds a bunch of pages that when I read back make no sense?:laugh:like this?
Back on topic, many claimed Tonto was the first to complete a 3A ...
I m lost.

Maybe i m used to like plushyaxel so everything different looks, well different.. My all time impression was that he takes off gorgesously and lands it before you can say "triple axel" :p!!
I would give plushy for his triple axel landing /extention in Torino +33Goe. The eurosport boys agreed with me

:unsure:lock plushy thread?B are you my friend?A haicut indeed wouldnt hurt.

Mathman please dont lock it unless it is so against guidelines:o

Maybe the mods should just lock the thread until Plushy actually does something newsworthy.

Back in the day we used to have contests to see if we could get a Michelle Kwan thread up to 300 posts. Plushenko is up to about two-and-a-half Kwans, with no end in sight! :)

If we hit 999, everybody hold off and let Seniorita have the honor of the 1000th post! :agree:

Plushy bald..sometimes your ideas scare me..this would be nightmare :laugh:
I can check his speed on ice by his hair:laugh:But he needs a haircut. Always did. ;)
when i was younger, I was wondering if it affected his jumps. Probably not as history showed. Next season will come and this thread will be full of flapping comments, I m not worried. I have missed Ant and Dee by the way:yes:

Mathman you make me laugh  ευχαριστώ
means thank you in greek.:)

medusa i missed this before, there is no room for offense here:) actually i find interesting different perspectives people can have for just one athlete. And it is very informative. I saw a dozen of axels and their techniques today, i m ready to make the jump myself :p

I like Johnny Weir's triple axel the most. But Plushenko does have that so called "wow" factor, or "it" factor for his entire jumps, step sequences, , consistency, and passion. He could grab me and draw me in. I could follow his expressions and feel them. Why don't we talk about his skating before 2006 Oympics, such as this one:

See how powerful and precise his expression was through the music?! I love this program! (except the bielmann spin ;)) That was the Plushenko I remember, not the 2006 Olympic one.

I just thought, you know, that the thread had gotten so crazy, it had to be preserved as it was! But I would never want to deprive you of a Plushy thread . So carry on, everyone.

I'm with you .

Maybe we need a new poll: Does Plushy need a haircut? :)
I think it should be "what haircut does Plushy need?", since clearly even his fans are in agreement that one is needed. Options can include mullet, long hair, shaved, mohawk, cornrows, 80s hair band, buzz cut, Dorothy Hamill wedge, emo hair, etc. Endless possiblities! Can anyone play with photoshop and show us what these would look like?

He's very static and careful in this program. When he stops he will show his perceived drama of the music with determined arms and face, but then continue to use crossovers for the next element. I do not see any fluidity in his performance, and I much prefer johnny's. However, tastes vary among fans, one can only express theirs.

well fans of his skating dont have to be fans of his hair ;) I think Torino hair was the more muletless i had seen. He looked fine. When the mulet grows to long hair it seems also decent :p . This is from somewhere around christmas http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/7472/26739qj1.jpg
oh i prefer harrypotter and ant's husky eyes than a poll for plushead:yes:

let me photoshop this:biggrin:

musicallity..I think all skaters I like have this in common, but different resultants lead to the musicality of each one. Plush has the drama and power to express himself in music. Do we talk only for competitions?in any case this is my fav show from paris bercy and i was not in the audience :frown:

Sorry Seniorita, I've been a little busy. Glad to see that you haven't gotten yourself into a lot of trouble without me and Ant watching over you. Anyhow, just wanted you to know that I really started liking Plush when I saw this program. I had always thought up until this program that he was kind of a snooty snot. This program changed my whole perspective of him.

Once Upon A Time In America Program

Where were you?You ve been missed:)I thought it was you who left with Scott Hamilton this week:biggrin:
This program is the first my baby sister ever watched and hunts her until now. Got scared
I love it.:party2:

Fair enough!:)

It's hard for Plushenko to please Joe once Joe has had an opinion on him. Why not determined arms? I guess I prefer those determined arms a lot more to Lysacek's undetermined, random arms. Yes, I agree that Johnny has more fluidity on ice than most of the skaters including Plushenko. But the fluidity is not the only measure for a good skating. I happen to like both Weir's fluidity and Plushenko's power and passion. If I have to choose between those two, I would choose the latter.

I have never seen a joyful skate by Plushenko but I have seen funny ones in galas so his presentations can be varied. Yet, in competitions he always looks angry to me. I believe some fans would consider that passion. I don't unless their is reason to be angry all the time.

Lysacek's arms are not the most convincing, I agree but then he just became numero uno recently. Maybe that will change. Johnny has been around for some time and much of his skating is usually flowing but not so much recently. The fluidity I remember is innate and when he is 'on', he comes across as a non-choreographed natural skater, although not recently. Hopefully Wilson will get him back to how he started. Plushenko, seems to skate determined with crossovers for the big jumps; stop and pose, and more crossovers for the next big jump. His footwork is anger personified and his arms move accordingly.
Hopefully we'll see another side to his skating this season.

btw, my money is on Joubert, and so far I lost a bundle from last season but there is hope. He is sooooo overdue.

It is surprising how much he has won with no fluidity and flow, no musicality, no transitions, flapping arms, and a mediocre 3A. :)

+ with no choreography, no interpretation, just crossovers, only jumps- angry programs-head banging-pelvic thrusting-mugging-stop and posing, bees hunting, flirting judges but with no edges, a big nose and a mullet!
:p:laugh:
Oh, I miss Plushy :o
