Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

Lol I think I got back on the right time...
Medusa Elections was one more time the same old news.

Evgeni's Sp today in Cup of Russia , stage II , Perm

97.35 54.10 43.25 8.50 8.35 8.95 8.75 8.70
no deductions 4-3, 3axel, 3lz

This one, it is an official competition, do they have bonus again??
Welcome back Plushy:clap:

Alright!:agree:

This is good to hear, but not surprising, honestly.

I cannot wait to see him at COR!!!! I've just been biding my time, waiting for this...

This would probably score mid to high 80's if this was judged internationally, let's say at the Olympics. Although he might crack the 90 mark (remember 2006)

OMG!

Thank you for posting that video, seniorita, I've never seen it before. I honestly got choked up viewing it once, I will not view it again because I do not want to lose the magic of that first time, it's beautiful ~ everything beautiful ~ the skater, the music, the moment gelled. I love it!

The only thing that marred it a tad was the forward landing on the quad, but that's being nitpicky, everything else was fabulous. And to think it's only the beginning of October, he has plenty of time to go from fabulous to masterpiece...

Once again I say Evgeni Plushenko skates with the gods.

BRAVO, EVGENI, BRAVO!!!!!!!!

You know what? I have never seen Plushenko did exact Evan-brand flailing arms before except in this new SP. That makes this new SP's choreography a little annoying.:scowl:

I am starting to grow a hostile feeling against Marton..I vision I am a cartoon that takes his violin, throws it on the floor and jumps on it upside down until i make sure it wont work again..(i wish there was an emoticon for this)

I didnt like the Tango version and now I dont like sp music, at least chopin had some character, this one, it has no theme, and I feel bad because Plush has done so much effort to get his form and be competitive again and music in both programs doesnt help him at all to show it! I think he could do miracles with different music..and some fresh ideas in choreo ...but my basic problem is music because in terms of choreo plushy is going to do his own thing anyway:biggrin:
I wait to see his Tango today, which I havent seen as competitive program..

Ok so i watched the SP...Seniorita agree with you completely we've had more than enough Marton to last us a life time, but without his influence how would Evgeni do his frantic footwork sequences - there's nothing in aranjuez that would match :p

As to the programme I don't like the choreography I didn't spot many transitions, remember he'll be having to compete against the new crop armed with Wilson or Nichol transitions galore (regardless of how inappropriate to the music!).

The jumps look great especially for this early in the season - they all looked great, my only problem is that they're all one after the other linked only by cross overs (except the minimal mohawks into triple lutz), though it did look like he tried to do something before the triple axel but the camera angle wasn't good.

On the plus side he has definitely worked on both his camel and his sit spin - the sit really does get down and is pretty good. He loses alot of speed on some of the edge changes and changes in position on both sits, but i'm sure that will improve as the season advances.

The step sequences are same old, same old, for me, more toe pick and heel work than edge work, i didn't see the variety and complexity of turns required for the higher levels on the circular step sequence, and on the straightline he mostly turned in his dominant direction and not to the other which i'm sure is the benchmark for at best level 2? (but can anyone confirm?)

It was good you were silent for a long time..:rolleye: days of grace are over?
And What are you doing here??:unsure:It is Saturday, go !

Plushy said himself after LP (http://www.allsportinfo.ru/index.php?id=32768) he is not at all satisfied with what he showed at Perm and would not go to Olys with these level of programs, I dont know if it is the homevideo or something but he looked slow and it is unusual for him and the program looks like draft..I somehow think he will fix this mess of a music as he used to in the past..This aranguez has no pick, has nothing..I wait
Now i just watched the Lp, I was really scared because I had not seen Tango since the shows....I dont know what I saw, very strange feeling to watch his competitive Lp after years...I need a week to recover..

Lp here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRX509y4Fa8

Ant??;)

I hope that the lack of choreography and relation to anything spanish in the SP is because it is new. The chreo looks exactly the same as it did for The Pianist. His spins look poor compared with Jeremy and Lambiel. The jumps are pretty good except that he now flutzes. Realistically I can't see him medaling unless it is by reputation alone. Even is he is clean, the quality of the skating is nowhere near a lot of the guys out there.

Perhaps this helps

Four jump passes within the first 30 seconds? Hideous.

Caroline Zhang skates faster than him, serious. :chorus:

Can he actually 'sit' instead of squatting in his trademark 'sit' spins?

Plushenko is slow, but don't you dare take the slow motion title away from Zhang; that will be Zhang's for considerable future, that is part of her artistry.

Senorita, what about your passport? Have been away for a while; so I`m not quite up to date :-) Sorry, but today is definitely complaining day for me. What`s happened to Evgeni? He is slow, he shows no energy, the music is, thanks to Edvin, awful, the costume not much better, the choreography is somehow lifeless, and some of the moves are a nightmare. Sigh! Please get annoyed with me and tell me I`m completely nuts. I can take that, but you could rise my hopes again. :biggrin:You were right: the jumps are the very least to worry about, as far as I`m concerned. Maybe loosing so much weight in a short time wasn`t such a good idea after all, although it was somehow necessary... Sigh!

maybe plush will try also then the pearl spin:biggrin:

he is slow here but it is a bit funny to call Plushenko a slow skater..His spins have been improved from 2006, not that he is comparable to the skaters mentioned above but he tried to make them better than before and I think that's the point. At the very least he said he would come back and he just did in a decent level.
Plushenko said he didnt like himself today so I take his word for it. He also said costumes are bound to change.
It is not what I would like to see, sp and lp, but I m happy he is back and patient to see what his programs develop to. I didnt like Lambiel's programs either, so far Takahashi 's are the best!
passport..have you heard a thing called greek bureaucracy?

Don't get me wrong. This guy has 4t, 4t+3t, 3a... I think he deserves an OGM if he lands these stuff and nobody else can match him technically.

I've gotten tired of seeing all these 3A-less/Quadless male skaters get on the world podium for the past few year. It's a slippery slope, you have to wonder whether men's skating is back to stone age.

I certainly don't want to see a 3a-less Chan 'transition' onto the Olympic podium.

^^ then among the 3 judges' favorite (aka the PCS kings), who do you like best?

the Quadless Chan, the 3A-less Lambiel or the Transition-less Plushy?

I still have a tiny little hope that Verner can somehow pull off a magic, this guy have beautiful quad and 3A, great personality, interesting programs with nice transitions, but he's just waaaay too inconsistent.
