70???? Whew! amazing. Well, this is going to make vancouver more interesting than we thought!
Also ... GO ALISSA AND MIRAI!!! I'm not surprised. Always thought those two could be on top of the pile if they skated well.

Almost 56 for that ???

Apparently edging and looking good are enough...

And go Joanie!

Yeah guess so, she got like the same score as Mirai who actually did her jumps....Alissa and Joannie were great though! Idk if there scores should have been as high as they were but they did perform very well. Joannie for the gold woo  . What do you guys think the podium will look like now with Akiko and Zhang so low? Joannie, Alissa, and Laura? Or Mirai, I hope Mirai!

I'd hate to be a party pooper but I did not enjoy tonight's skating. I just don't understand what the judges were looking for tonight. Zzzzzzzzzzz And the audience was somewhat reserved. Underwhelming!

Congrats Alissa for a clean skate and Joannie for beating the pressure.

That was a *solid* skate for Rochette. Jumps were spot on, interpretation was excellent, a poor layback but still... May be they boosted her PCS somewhat, but it's not like they haven't done this to anyone this season. I think she deserved that score.

And I'm not making predictions here: the bomb potencial on FS among all of these ladies is really high (unfortunately)

standings?

what are the current standings?
I barely saw Laura, saw Mirai, and saw Rochette. Stupid internet feed!

That did not deserve a 70. Ugh.

But, Olympics are in Canada this year and Joannie has been ordained as the only non-Asian who can medal.

Joannie executed everything well, why shouldn't she get at least a 70? Look at the last olympics when someone like Sasha getting a 69 for a flutz combo.

wow joannie was great gosh i did not expect that score but thats great. Maybe Yu na will have some challengers.

They always seems to like Laura even if she misses jumps, guess its the speed.

3-8 are all very close. It's going to come down to the LP and considering Akiko's ability I wouldn't count her out just yet.

I'd say that Joannie got the benefit of skating in Canada, but she still did a wonderful job and deserves to be first.

Wow. Just managed to watch the second group and the result is really surprising.
Laura is above Akiko?? With that jump content?? What did she do? Level 5 steps??
And Joannie was great, but was she 7 points better than Alissa?? Okay, Alissa lips so there goes about 3 points, but still.
Wow.
Anyway, it is a very interesting competition indeed!!

Good luck to Mirai Alissa & Caroline in the LP!
And Laura.Poor Laura.
Also was hoping Suzuki would kick Flatt out of the GPF...*disappointed*
