2025 JGP Baku Men's Free Skate

Patrick Blackwell wearing black of course. Ultra talented but with several mistakes. Still learning how to compete. Don't give up on him - one day he is going to find the steadiness and consistency.

Minkyu flies into an opening quad only to land messily into the boards. He regroups and starts racking up the points. His speed across the ice and the solidity of his spins stand out. He is is very composed out there and has a lovely freedom to his movement. Extremely likeable and enjoyable to watch. Nice recovery.

Okay, predictions are now also in shambles for me. LMAO, if everyone's predictions are all over the place, nobody has an advantage, right?
yup mine are a mess - but at this age they are learning to compete and are rather unpredictable. I am happy because I got 4 of the top 5 just not in the correct order and my outlier pick was ninth.

Minus the quad sal (which is very new) my lad did excellent, both Jaekeun and Minkyu are working to get a quad in their arsenal this season and it's not been an easy battle so far and I can only cheer and pray for them. Oh well Minkyu, Jaekeun landed one (although with a q) so I believe that you will soon at least stand up on it, let's see how things shake up at JGPF aside from the champion and vice-champion of the last JWC

i wonder if someone as young as Denis has ever watched the movie, i only know it because of my sister's love for Brad Pitt

I watched it ("Seven Years In Tibet") a few months ago. I enjoyed it.

And it was so cool to find out that the Dalai Lama's mother was played by his sister. It must be lovely to be able to play your own parent.

Oh, you bad girl! Writing fake notes to your teachers.

I suppose you were using the notes to skive off school so that you could hang around graveyards. Getting in a bit of kissing practice. 😗

I still can't get over that story!

You really are one of a kind. And we wouldn't have you any other way! ;)

:laugh4: actually it wasn't that original. let's clarify things for all the others that don't know the story. there was this trend among goths (i think started onMyspace, remember Myspace, you dinosaurs?) of taking photos of yourself kissing statues in the closest graveyard :ROFLMAO: of course being myself as original and out of the box as any other goth of my generation i did it too (i should still have the photo somewhere)

Ouch, I am bummed Blackwell missed out on the podium and likely JGPF as well. But such is live.

I just got a shock. It was over a year ago that you told us the story (here). I thought it was only a few months ago! :drama:

Time really is flying!

Anyway, I hadn't actually come across that trend before. But, I still think you're special. ;)

MySpace. Never really got into it. I was more of a Bebo person.

Mind you, I do have one story I can tell you about MySpace. I was a member of a forum dedicated to the Japanese girl group Shanadoo. And I became very good friends with another member (just like I did with you, I suppose). And I became connected with her on MySpace. Well, fast forward quite a few years, and the Shanadoo forum had closed down, and MySpace had been given a make-over. I went onto MySpace, and didn't know what I was doing, and I accidentally deleted her as a contact. And I have regretted it ever since, because I didn't know of any other way of contacting her.

I often wonder what she is up to now.

Out of curiosity, I just had a look at my MySpace profile, and I am connected with so many music acts that I had forgotten all about! I'll have to have a listen to some of them, to remind me what they were like.

Hey, there's even a group amongst them called Electrik Red...
