Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

i guess he must get some credit for yagudin also, when he went to Tarasova his jump technique was perfect;)

Ximena posted an extended article on fsu, regarding plush injury. Since I read this, i have mixed feelings about his comeback, somehow i would prefer plushy relaxed on a couch eating pizza.

«I have a microtear on the ligaments, in the muscles. I will get another shot on December 29th if everything goes well»

The drug, which helps Plushenko continue to performn is called hondroprotektor.

"The meniscus is very importan part of the knee joint. And when it is removed, as it happened to Evgeni Plushenko, and it continue to get a big load on the knee, then it starts to create damage to the cartilage that covers the bone in the joint. For the average person it is pretty painless, because the load isn't much, but for a man who in a daily basis deals with professional sports and it gives a higher load on the damaged knee, the cartilage begins to fade almost to the bone " comments for Infox.ru on of Russia's main traumatologist.

"And like an stomach can get ulcers, such ulcers can appear on the surface of the cartilage in the joint. This is a deforming arthrosis. There are four degrees of this disease. I do not know, of course, what degree Evgeni Plushenko has, but because the cartilage is still there, is that he gets an special treatment with the hondroprotector."

Last month hondroprotektor Plushenko was injected into the knee twice. "Through this I have already passed in mid-December, and now. Then the doctor said that his knee will hurt the whole two hours. But I suffered a two days, could not even stand on the leg, not just jump ", - shared an Olympic champion.

"After the injection he could not walk. And if it comes, it is limping. Can not sleep: he is tortured pain. Zhenya started out on the ice. Jumping does not begin immediately, of course. He learns to ride again: starts with a single jump, then - double, triple and then moves on. And the four-out already somewhere at the end of the second week."

Why, instead of two hours Plushenko knee pain for several days, tried to understand one of the experts.

"Everything depends on the drug. Hondroprotektor is a foreign body introduced into the joint, wether is in a liquid form is still a foreign body, each joint can react to it differently. Moreover, in addition to the drug there is still a large number of different additives. So it happens that the drug can causes more inflammations. I can not say that it is very often, but it happens "

"This is not a doping product. It's like a lubricant for the joint, it is absolutely a non-hormonal drug, and it has not effect in improving his results. It helps strengthen the cartilage", explained the doctor

But whether Plushenko with a sick knee to continue the speech before the Olympics in Vancouver, has not taken anyone to predict.
"Many athletes live in hondroprotektorah, I think, 20-30%. Someone else at a young age to face such challenges. Veterans virtually all use them. But how long such problems the athlete will be able to act in a big sport, it is impossible to say. All too individually "- summed up the expert.

Has Mischin been able to bring forth any skater other than Plushenko?

^ 1994 Olympic champ Alexei Urmanov.

Edited to add: According to this article

http://northern-stars.htmlplanet.com/profiles/mishin_profile.html

he also coaches Lutai and Griasev, and he also coached Elena Sokolova.

"Professor Mishin" has a PhD in Educational Science and has published scholarly articles in biomechanics. His PhD dissertation was, "Skating jumps." :agree:

Mishin also coached Alexei Yagudin to win 1996 world junior title and 1998 World Champion title.

Love the pics, especially the one that shows the red rose, which I had never noticed before. I love roses, so glad he has one on his wrist. It actually reminds me of Artur Dmietriev at the end of his 1994 Olympic FS wherein he tore the black fabric away from his chest to reveal the red silk scarf hidden underneath representing his heart. :)

Lol, I've actually seen the footage of Mishin & Moskvina skating, which I found hilarious because poor little Tamara is doing all the work while Mishin just had to turn his feet out & hold her hand while she pirouetted around him on skates.:love:

On a more serious note, I read the indepth article about Zhenya's injury & the temporary solution/fix. I've just been praying for him & all the athletes to stay injury-free & healthy so that they can compete to their utmost ability at the Olympic Games in February.

Just two more months, Evgeni, just two more months. Hang on! You can do it! Remember what the experts at the Kalinska Institute said "it's all in the mind, it starts with one thought, how the Nobel doctors say you become your thoughts". Think only positive thoughts, Evgeni, visualize yourself skating two clean programs. Forget about the pain, but more importantly never doubt yourself, never doubt yourself. There can be no doubt whatsoever.

:party2::party2::party::party:GOOOOOOO EVGENI!!!!:party::party::party2::party2:

I think anyone who likes the "type of beauty" Joubert's and Lycacek, can not love "Plushy's beauty" ... and vice versa. ;)
Also, I think that only Lambiel "covers" both groups
Joubert and Lysacek are nothing alike in looks. Lysacek is taller and thinner and usually seems like he's trying very hard to look edgy; also, he has a fake tan - he's about the same color these days as Maxim Shabalin in the OD :p. Joubert is more conventionally handsome and seems to be no paler or more tan than he normally has been. Plushenko - well, I'm sure he's a nice person. The best looking current male skater is probably Fedor Andreev, but I'm now guessing his Azerbaijani citizenship will never go through so "current skater" may be a stretch.

now you said 'ducks' B(and pretend i didnt read the rest of message:biggrin:) have you seen Ant lately??
I'm sure Ant has better things to do during the holidays than hang about the Plushenko thread.

I like this topic. If I may, I'd like to stretch a little.:p I agree that Joubert is universally accepted handsome young man. Like Dick Button said, he has star qualities. It does helped him to be more popular among fans, but he also has the charisma that attracts not just "the screaming girls". I cannot find much fault from Lysacek's look. He is supposed to be a very good feature, but there is something missing. I don't know what it is. Somehow, I feel the emptiness. He is not very attractive to me. Plushenko is not very good looking but he has the power, the passion, and the magnetism. (I wish he could shave his face better.:p)

I officially like Joubert and Plushenko types of beauty.:clap:

Yea, me too! Although I find it difficult to use beauty and Plushy in the same sentence, cos frankly the man is not beautiful (yes, dont kill me pls).. But I find him quite attractive and very cute. I like his passion, I think that's what does it for me.. Brian is beautiful and charismatic and fun. Perfect combination in a man!:biggrin:
Lysacek is good looking by classical standards but the fake tan and the terribly cocky attitude really puts me off..

Btw, a few pages back I noticed this comment by Plushyta claiming fans of Joubert find Plushy unappealing...:mad::scowl: I threaten to leave this thread if -as a Jouby fan- my support for Plushy goes unappreciated.. (I don't think anybody would care much but it feels good to pull a tough guy once in a while..:laugh:)

you are the worst diplomat ever:laugh::laugh:;)
I find plushy very very interesting to look at, he is very shiny and carries himself nice so when he enters a room you turn your head. He has unconventional face feautures which I find bright and and amost transparent and in adittion to his on ice personality make him a Brad Pit(lol). Plus he is funny off ice that adds to his charm a lot! I like this version of beauty in people than Mr Ralph Lauren type of guy. Plus when i was younger he looked to me as etherial as Legolas. Then I grew up.

In terms of handsome, from current crop Stephan is the one:love:I could look at him all day.
Schiele(schiele in greek means light blue:p) your input is much much appreciated, when i see the girl with lolipop avatar i know i will read something nice:yes:

I'm sure Ant has better things to do during the holidays than hang about the Plushenko thread.

Plushenko - well, I'm sure he's a nice person.

i think plush has such a commanding type of beauty

:laugh::laugh: That South Park avatar, which I first created for my last.fm ID, has been with me for so long now that I cannot picture myself without my lolipop.. Well, I was only kidding anyways about leaving this thread.. What would I do with all that spare time?:laugh:

Plushenko - well, I'm sure he's a nice person.

Oh my, I have not noticed this when I first read the post until Seniorita pointed it out.. This is just too funny..:rofl:

schiele you made the avatar yourself??!!!
I want a plushy southpark one!!!with lolipop!can you teach me to do one?
All I would do alone is take Kenny and add a mullet:rolleye:

Ximena thanx for interview, the photos look great and I love the pic with them and the blue tree:), then I started reading the interview but fell off the couch in the first paragraph and have not continued:laugh:

Do you remember, when was the first time you have seen Evgeni?
I do, it was at the 2002 Olympic Games. I was in Germany with my mum. We were watching figure skating and supporting Plushenko, I was supporting him and not Yagudin. I remember I said to my mun: "Mum, I want him to win very much. Look Evgeni looks so much like an elf, though he has a very big nose, I wonder how he kiss then?" That's what I was thinking...

When you met Evgeni in person that impression is lost.
You mean about the nose?

:rofl:I m not the only one who thought he looked like Legolas, lol! His wife is funny!

Brian doesn't like Plushy's haircut... Did anybody else saw the quite funny interview with Brian on Eurosport?

His wife IS funny, it's a great interview, hope you manage to read it all. She talks a lot about he met Evgeni, that time when Evgeni decided that they need to be apart to figure out if they will work out, about their upcoming plans, it's very very nice.

oh i ll read it all I just cracked up!

Medusa, you saw the gala?how was it?No i dont have eurosport here, what did he say?they talked about Plush's coiffure?

in the meantime I found the website and did this
Im not sure it is close to the Plushy tango I imagined:sheesh:I ll have a new approach when i get back home!

Although I find it difficult to use beauty and Plushy in the same sentence, cos frankly the man is not beautiful (yes, dont kill me pls).. But I find him quite attractive...
I respect in the men - only attractiveness, not beauty (beauty is a term, which is associated with the women :p) ... and these are the most attractive eyes in the world

Well, it is not true? You are living proof for that :p ... but, are you not still and Plushy's fan - in which place he stand in your signature?

I agree that Joubert is universally accepted handsome young man.
For whom you agree, that he is "universally accepted handsome"? :p

Like Dick Button said, he has star qualities. It does helped him to be more popular among fans, but he also has the charisma that attracts not just "the screaming girls".
You talking about Plushy?

You have a "divided personality" - but I forgive you "half of guilt"

... Plushenko is not very good looking but he has the power, the passion, and the magnetism. (I wish he could shave his face better.)
Who here is unshaven and has a big nose? :p
http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/5325/snapshot20091230230030.jpg

I dont want until now to comment someone else's "beauty" (but since few "person" here said, what they think about Plushy's looks :sheesh:) .... I will now about Joubert's "look":
For me, Joubert is not, at all, handsome and attractive - he have "hunchbacked" nose (more erratic than Plushy's nose) .. not to mention his eyes, which were placed too close, may to say - "cross-eyed"? :p
I do not want to "start a war" - as I said, you said what you thought about Plushy, allow and me ;)

Brian doesn't like Plushy's haircut... Did anybody else saw the quite funny interview with Brian on Eurosport?
"Would you prefer Plushenko's hairstyle, or that you Tarasova coaching?" ... difficult to decide

Im not sure it is close to the Plushy tango I imagined
Whether it is commercial for "Chupa-chups"?

The interview is not done completely but here's an interview to Evgeni's wife Yana, it's a very long interview, hopefully it will be done by tonight.....
Thanks Ximena, on all your translations! ... I'm exhausted the previous day for any translation :sheesh:

P.S.....;)

Happy New Year, and all the best... which you could wish for yourselves :agree:

For Plushy's - just health and two more shining "necklaces"
:)
