Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

Your "dream banner" is nice. But my gosh, those skaters are the size of young boys or girls .

I bet Caro is taller than all three of them and she is basically a normal size girl here in USA. I had no idea the Euro boys were so tiny. ;)

To further investigate just how tiny the Euro boys are, I have found this:

USA:

Armin Mahbanoozadeh 5'6"
Steven Carriere 5'7"
Adam Rippon 5'7"
Jeremy Abbott 5'9"
Johnny Weir 5'9"
Ross Miner 5'9"
Richard Dornbush 5'9"
Brandon Mroz 5'10"
Ryan Bradley 6' (but he's 175cm, about 5'9" in Wikipedia)
Evan Lysacek 6'2"

The Euro boys you said "so tiny":

Stephane Lambiel 5'9" (175cm)
Evgeni Plushenko 5'10" (178cm)
Brian Joubert over 5'10" (179cm)

See what I mean?;)

I thought Plush and Joub are among the tallest, Joub looks even taller than that live! Plushy is on the right height for me to climb and give him a good luck kiss in Rostel
plush40.gif
, so I think he is right about perfect tall ;)

Are these too tall for you?

Alexei Urmanov, 180 cm.
Anton Sikharudlidze, 182
Artur Dimetriev, 183
John Zimmerman, 183
Gargantua, aka Jamal Othman, 186 ;)

Bret Hedican (U.S. Hockey player), 188 ... husband of ...
Kristi Yamaguchi, 155. :)

Evan is an anomaly... very few skaters (even Americans) are over 6 feet tall. Abbott is 5' 9'' (175 cm), Ryan Bradley is 5' 9" (175 cm) , Brandon Mroz is 5' 10" (178 cm), Adam Rippon is and Johnny Weir is 5' 9" (175 cm). In contrast Lutai is 176 cm, Plushenko is 178 cm, Voronov is 177 cm, Joubert is 179 cm, Vad Der Perren is 177 cm, Verner is 180 cm, Alban Preaubert is 182 cm, Contesti is 181 cm, Lambiel 175 cm, etc. So I would say most of the American and European male skaters are in the 175 t 182 cm range. They are about the same height, except for Evan who is 188 cm. So there is no reason to call Eurpean male skaters "shorties" when compared to American male skaters. The are only short only when compared to Evan "Giraffe" Lysacek.

I see that many heights you list are not right. Johnny, for instance is only 4'10 ;)

I referred to the pic - maybe it is because they look so young.
They look so much older now - maybe 35 or so, no?

Johnny and Joubert looks same height.
Lambiel looks smaller than Johnny and Joubert.
Johnny was taller than I expected when I saw him in person.

Whatever, lol, I was going to post something earlier today, but now all I can do is ROTFLMAO!:chorus::laugh:

And of course:

:love::love::love::love:GOOOOOOOOO EVGENI!!!!:love::love::love::love:

I am quite sure that you (or any of us) once were 1'.

Seriously, the picture you refered to were taken on January 2006 at Euros. They were all mature adults at that time.

Plushenko looks taller than Joubert.
Johnny and Joubert looks same height.
Lambiel looks smaller than Johnny and Joubert.
Johnny was taller than I expected when I saw him in person.

 This really sounds like one of the math questions I saw.

I need a taller guy as I'm about the same height as an average male skater (I'm taller than Kurt by a couple millemeters lol) so Evan's height is just fine with me

Is now the time to begin a talk about the weight? :rolleye:

If so, it's always more fun to go into the ladies field than men.. Real trash talking opportunity there.
Now another subject to add to the things the Plushy thread turned into.. Male skaters height problems and "to hug or not to hug"..:biggrin:

PS: I think its Lambiel's terrible hair reminiscnet of the 80's and Plushy's almost non existent mullet in this picture, which makes them look so young..

The Plushenko thread can always be counted upon for silliness and strange tangents...

Plushenko, Joubert and Lambiel are all within the norm for male skaters. I'm 5'7'' so I'm good with guys that height, so long as they're appealing in other ways, too. For instance - absolutely no mullets allowed.

Evan Lysacek is really tall for a skater in any discipline. Assuming the ISU has the correct information, he's actually taller than some of the bigger guys in pairs, like Maxim Trankov and Stanislav Morozov. Maybe he should have bulked up and tried pairs, considering his technique issues on certain jumps that shall not be named it might not have been such a bad idea ;).

Of course, it is not a crime. Crime is your word - not mine.

I rarely see artistry in figure skating except for a few skaters who happen to be talented and they come from various countries - not just one. I do see excellent presentations as part of the sport, and that is of value.

i dare to repeat i don't think Jeremy has superior artistry
superior? huh big word , not really right one in my oppinion

i'm not from Russia  and well i don't support only russians, so leave this attitude

lambiel is 175 cm? i thought hes smaller
plushenko looks much taller than lambiel but much smaller than joubert
and johnny is 4'10

oh thats good cause I thought we would fight over Plush, in that case I pick Plushy, you pick Jouby and Medusa Lamby and we go out on a date, unless Medusa thinks Zebrah is too boyish, so I can pick Stephan which sounds great;)

:rofl:this sounds like einstein's problem:
Facts:
1. There are 5 houses (along the street) in 5 different colors:
blue, green, red, white and yellow.
2. In each house lives a person of a different nationality:
Brit, Dane, German, Norwegian and Swede.
3. These 5 owners drink a certain beverage:
beer, coffee, milk, tea and water,
smoke a certain brand of cigar:
Blue Master, Dunhill, Pall Mall, Prince and blend,
and keep a certain pet:
cat, bird, dog, fish and horse.
4. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage.
Hints:
1. The Brit lives in a red house.
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The green house is on the left of the white house (next to it).
5. The green house owner drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the house right in the center drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes blend lives next to the one who keeps cats.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12. The owner who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The man who smokes blend has a neighbor who drinks water.

The question is: Who keeps fish?

we have to figue out of a prizeto give to the one who finds it:biggrin:
mathman you dont play:p

^^^ Let me guess! The German keeps the fish, lives in the Green house (4th on the street), drinks coffee and smokes Prince.
