And no, Ivy League isn't what it's about. Lots of rigorous, great engineering programs are in schools which aren't part of the Ivy League. Stanford Engineering happens to be a great engineering school as part of the Ivy League, is all.

To be honest with ya, if it were Nagasu or Wagner that this happened to, instead of Flatt- this would have been JUST AS BIG a deal. It's not about Flatt so much as it is about the action that USFS took- which came to many people as a surprise.

Yes, smarter than all of us in her field of study anyway. And she will gain street smarts with the passage of time. This too shall pass if it already hasn't. A little publicity for figure skating minute as it is in the overall scheme of things in the middle of June. Not bad.

When I was in college back in the day, the ivy that covered the walls of the oldest buildings were infested with ants. Every year they had to take all the ivy down, kill the ants, and then re-train the ivy up the walls.
