The difference is Debbie was a much better skater and became a World champion. I don't see that ever happening for Rachael.I think rachael is like Debi Thomas. The work is gonna actually make her skating even better.

Stanford is not part of the Ivy League, but it is better than several of the schools that are part of the Ivy League and it is right up there with Harvard and Yale in terms of prestige.

I believe the term "Ivy League" was based on the prestigious Eastern Schools of the USA. Sports in those schools were as important the curriculums, and first rate professors.Stanford is not part of the Ivy League, but it is better than several of the schools that are part of the Ivy League and it is right up there with Harvard and Yale in terms of prestige. Plus, the food is pretty darn good by university dining hall standards.

Nowadays, I believe one could consider Stanford as a most prestigious school on the West coast. I think Tennis is an important sport at Stanford rather than the team sports of the northeast. Maybe Rachael can promulgate figure skating there.

Although the Ivy League is associated with prestige and accademic excellence, it was originally an athletic conference.
Joe, as a UC graduate, I'd have to respectfully disagree. Many of us on the west coast believe UC Berkeley is a much better school =P Stanford just costs more.
