Hey, Kanako was interviews after her performance and she said she wasn't sure but she said she did feel the desire to come back to the Olympics again, so she may stay!!

Mao got so low ball in pcs in order to keep local favorite on podium if they fall. The performance is great in itself and score from corrupted judges and organization doesn't matter.

Regardless of placement, Mao's free is probably the skate of the Olympics for me. It was vintage Mao.

That was absolutely epic skate from Mao Asada, she's just taken the ladies' figure skating to a higher dimension with eight triples and has left me in tears. If only she'd landed the combination yesterday, that probably would give her the bronze today. Now that she's skated such an amazing program she could retire on a high note but I hope she'll at least skate at the Worlds and captures the third world title.

Good for her! BTW, a score of 198 would have medaled at GP Finals in December, and at the last 2 World Championships. Not saying that is going to happen today, but very, very interesting for all the ladies to come.....

I kinda wonder if Mao is totally retiring? I think it's likely she'll leave the competition circuit for a year or two, do her own thing, shows, travel around, so forth, but as long as her body stays working, why shouldn't she try and come back in the next Olympics?

Great skate my Mao. She was not overscored, looks about right. The problem is the overscoring going on with the Russians and to a much smaller extent Gracie.

Really? I thought she received quite a generous score. Every single jump of hers had a hooked landing. She could have received quite a few more URs.
Laughable. TWO jumps of hers had hooked landings, and one was slightly marginal. What a snotty and ugly comment, having to get 'last night's disaster' in there.
