So when was Johnny lying? When he first saw Adelina's performance score and said the judges were very very generous? Or when he backpadalled and said, oh no, I must have been mistaken before because Adelina actually deserves to win the game those totally-not-generous and completely deserved scores.

God, seriously, why do you need to do this? Yes, Adelina fully deserved every bit of her score and her gold, according to your Johnny and Tara. So that must be true. We don't believe a word of it, but if you know you're right, then there's no need to convince us. And stop trying to tear Yuna down (yes, she was flat, skated with no heart, had problems connecting with the Russian crowd, so she didn't deserve 80% of the GOEs she used to get just past year, while Adelina's practically doubled) so Adelina's scores would make some sense to the world. You GOT your bloody gold, all right? You won.

So please, just go away.

Tara may be expressing her opinion but she gets to say it to a national audience and people who don't really know skating may be convinced by her, even though she is not presenting both sides of the story. If she said before she said her opinion, I am biased because adelina reminds me of me, then that would be different.

Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski have just talked on NBC nightly coverage for the Olympics. They both insisted firmly that the placement was right. Basically They said the same like Scott Hamilton has said. They said YuNa was coming in like a ballerina. She tried to defend her title but with not enough technical content. They said Adelina's 2A-3T in the second half was so powerful. They said Adelina's jumps were so big and deserved huge GOEs while YuNa's jumps were a little tight. They said the judges were front roll audience and were moved like the whole audiences.

Her two-foot step out was certainly big. Her 3T-3T in the short program was certainly higher technical content than Yuna too. And nothing about those GOE or components scores.

They are up their lying through their teeth on tv and it's all ********.

You really need to relax, I am trying to make my points in a civil manner. You all are ridiculous for saying Tara's opinion is from being bought by the Russians, reliving her youth, or just plain stupidity. I can assure you she knows more about skating than anyone here. Not that it means she is right, but she is at least credible.

I don't go on the Yuna cheering pages to discuss this. If you want everyone to share your opinion you should post there.

Your favourite won so you are going to overlook the fact that the judging panel was biased towards the Russians. You don't care whether decisions are made with fairness and transparency. As long as our favourites win we don't care whether it was fair or not or that edge deductions/sloppy presentation are conveniently ignored.

Kostner and Kim were robbed big time. Figure skating and Sotnikova too in many ways.

Ok, I didn't see Tara & Johnny on NBC but I'm going to throw in my two cents and add fuel to the fire. First, though, did they at ALL address the overall questionable judging especially with the PCS inflation (and not just in ladies)? That there might be some concerns about the composition of the panel given that one member is married to the head of the Russian skating federation and other was suspended once before for conduct? That there are valid reasons to ask why/how Sotnikova finished first? Ok, so here it is......I don't know why, really, they would support Sotnikova's placement above Kim & Kostner, but let's not forget that Johnny is married to a Russian. Does that have any impact on his commentary? I have no idea. All I know is that there are plenty of other figure skating experts, many of whom have many more years experience than they who have called the results into question. Katarina Witt, former double OGM, being one of them.

When Johnny saw Adelina's scores he remarked that they were "very generous." He also saw the handwriting on the wall. After Yuna's skate (and before her scores came up) he said, that performance would win any other skating competition except this one. To win this competition she would have had to do more.

I honestly have not seen the take-off edge from an angle that shows it was on an inside edge. She typically does flutz but sometimes she does not get an edge call, so I cannot say with 100% certainty she flutzed. Watching it back I did see an outside edge; whether she rolled over before taking off I can't tell.

"Sloppy presentation" is an opinion. A lot of judges like the arm waving. Don't you think if that type of skating didn't appeal to any judges the choreographers would give the skaters something different? Her jumps were performed the best I have ever seen them aside from the three jump combo. I do think the result should have been closer but I agree with the outcome because in my humble opinion Yuna was flat. Some agree with that, others don't. But I don't go attacking commentators or posters who think Yuna should have won and make arguments without exaggerating how bad Adelina is.

Kwan was being diplomatic. From what I saw, it was clear she disagreed with the result but preferred to talk about good skating rather than controversy.
