2014 Olympics Ladies Free Skate

I might have agreed with the rest before that, but nope, that's classless.

If figure skating is such a joke, stop watching.

It wasn't always a joke, but this event surely made it a joke. Everyone scored lower than the two Russian girls. The real battle for the gold was between Julia and Adelina.

Yep, because Caro actually scored lower on PCS than Adelina. That seem right to you?

Adelina had more jumps, but got uncalled on wrong edge and UR. Planning to do more technically and doing them incorrectly does not constitute actually doing more technically, I think. And Yuna did more technically in SP -- at least her BV had higher value, but still she received much lower GOEs in SP.

And the media that seem to say nothing was wrong with judging, that Adelina won on TES, just assume that technical score is something that is given objectively, as if Adelina got all 3 GOEs are completely deserved when no one else got that much 3 GOEs.

Look, Adelina was fantastic. I don't mean to say she doesn't deserve her gold. Like I said, everyone rocked, and they all deserved the gold, and the fact that she's young and skated her best ever at the home Olympics alone should grant her the gold.

That doesn't mean the scores she got was anywhere correct or others were fairly judged. And this whole spin about Adelina winning based on TES alone is a total BS. I wish they would stop perpetuating that.

Yu-na mainly received lower Goe on spins towards Adelina-which Yu-na should. She got lower GOE on the footwork because it was only level 3. Its not like Kim was lowballed on jumps. Both got high GOE no jumps.

Kostner did 7 triples, but she did not do a 3/3 and Adelina did, which gave Adelina an extra double axel. She also repeated easier jumps 3toe/3sal. So Adelina had a base value advantage against Kostner. .Some of Kostner's landings were shaky which lead to less GOE as well.

Then why did Adelina receive higher marks than Mao? Mao had the most triple jumps and she had the artistry.

Some of Mao's jumps were deemed underrotated. (Its frankly not surprising). Asada was also lowballed a bit on PCS for not being in the final group..

And that's the troubling part. The PCS should still be high if they performed well, it shouldn't matter when they skated and Mao had the skate of her life. And Adelina had a stumble and she made a flutz how do you explain the high PCS and the high technical marks. She also received a 4 for a rough stiff foot work, LOL.

Oh, for god's sake. If Mao's jumps were UR, Adelina's should've been too, but Adelina and Julia were not called on any of that, but Mao was. There's no way, no way, after landing 8 historical triples with 3A and having 5 points over Adelina just in TES alone, Mao should've ended up 2 points TES behind Adelina, when Adelina clearly made at least one mistake (one that they actually decide to count, since it was so obviously visible) and gave her - GOE.

And seriously, dropping Sq level for Yuna in free? That was a wrong technical call. And Adelina with the same program who never previously received L4 did in the Olympics?

Complete BS.

And seriously, dropping Sq level for both Yuna and Carolina from 4 to 3? That was a wrong technical call. Adelina was the only one who deemed to have L4 in the entire free, when Yuna and Caro and even frigging Mao got level 3, and when Adelina with the same program never previously received L4?

Complete BS.

Kostner got level four in her footwork in the free.

Adelina got level 4 steps at the GPF in the short program. The assistant technical specialist was Korean I believe. She also got level four steps at the Cup of China. I believe it was the first time she got them from the short.

But its just not the case that this is the first time "ever" Adelina's gotten level four steps in her short program. in fact if you take out the Olympics. She's 50/50 in the short at getting all level fours.

Stop pulling Mao into your arguments like that! Mao was underscored, not just in relation to Adelina, but in relation to Yuna and Caro too. No need to throw that in as a counter argument when people say Adelina had a technically more difficult program than Yuna or Caro - it has nothing to do with it!

I'm not sure about this season, but Adelina definitly received level 4 for her steps before. It was not the first time at this Olympics.

Looks like only Caro and Adelina.

:bang: Stop arguing if you don't know the facts. Mao got lv 4 too. Akiko got level 4 in the SP.

Are you serious? How is it not not relevant? The argument is that Adelina had more technically difficult program, therefore had the advantage. It didn't help Mao -- so why would that do anything for Yuna or Caro?

I was responding to the comment that EVERYONE in the FINAL FLIGHT got LV4. Mao and Akiko were not in the final flight. I checked and it was only Caro and Adelina. If I'm wrong, yes, correct me on that.

Okay, that's fair enough. I was just looking at the European and Russian in the last two months, and I'm pretty sure she didn't receive them there, but let me know if she did.

Look, like I said million times, Adelina may have deserved the gold, but scores look odd, and not getting all the UR and edge calls make it look it was unfair, and making it sound like everything is squeaky clean is just not on.

If you want to go into UR, I'm sure Russians can bring up a review on the 3lutz.... Adelina only did one triple lutz in her program. So one edge probably be -1 two points. The judges themselves except for one seemed to find it fine.

As for level for spins/steps, I never said Adelina always got them. But rather that she's gotten them in the past. Which means its not the first time every a panel has said she's done level 4 steps.

Why would I not be serious about this? Mao should have won the LP, mainly because of her great TES. She didn't. What does that have to do with the relation of difficulty in the LPs from Adelina, Yuna and Caro? Nothing.

Adelina won over mao with a less difficult, less well executed program. What does that smell like to you?

Yep, judges did.

All right. I'm done. I really wanted to respond back because I don't really agree the way you seem to brush aside the funny judging -- and maybe you really see absolutely nothing wrong -- but this is getting tiresome. Thanks for offering your opinion in the reasonable manner anyhow and I'll stop it here.
