Yuzuru Hanyu: 2013-14 Season

I think I've posted here... maybe twice? But I've mostly lurked so I wanted to say hello formally~ I became a fan during Sochi a week before the men's event when I looked up this Yuzuru Hanyu kid and my life took a 180 turn, did half an axel, and here I am today, completely and utterly obsessed with figure skating and not sure what I'm doing with my life. I'm kind of thinking about learning Japanese when I have the time - I hear it enough when I watch Team Japan interviews lol. We'll see if that happens

^ We have to make a venue capable of that in our beloved country first happy_Yuzu_fan. It is quite easy getting JP visa these days anyway, hehe! I don't think I want to risk Yuzu getting injured by skating in our malls

that is true... I think MOA Arena can accommodate events such as figure skating exhibitions.

so for now, as a student, the only thing I can do is to save up for the expenses that I may have to bear just for the sake of seeing Yuzuru in person...

^Maybe Araneta Coliseum? :) I remember there were some ice shows done there. Glad to find kababayans here in this thread btw. Hi happy_Yuzu__fan! Great moniker!

Am dreaming that maybe someday we can have Michael Christian Martinez and Yuzuru together in an ice show where they'll do their Biellmann spins side-by-side. The show can be a benefit one for the victims of the 2011 Japan earthquake and the 2013 Haiyan supertyphoon in the Philippines. Those two boys are their respective countries' pride and joy.

That's right! MOA Arena is a good venue too! I wish they will conduct a show like what you mentioned! If that happens, I'll probably spend the rest of my life happily :)

Same here, I became a fan a few weeks before Sochi! :)

I think after Olympics and Worlds Hanyu-kun got a lot more fans :) I'm one of those as well! Tough I have to say that I only watched the Worlds, and fell in love with his SP!
It actually took me sometime to find this thread since at first I was only searching in Japanese, until I had the idea, that maybe there might be also some english speaking fans  And live got much easier the last few days since I don't have to fight for every little bit information anymore, so I definitely plan to hang around this forum a bit longer

I'm living in Japan at the moment, and seriously thinking about watching one of the show, but I still have no idea, where to find tickets and who I could talk into going there with me...

School's starting this week, but if I find enough time, I'll try and help translating things here, since I also want to be of some help, and you're providing me with so many informations!!!

You're sooo lucky to be in Japan!

I have been watching figure skating since I was young, but since this sport technically does not exit in my country, I have never tried to understand all the elements and terms of this sport. I watched and followed some skaters I like after moving to Australia. Since Yagudin retired, I have found no one truly remarkable to follow. Even Kim Yuna or Mao. They are beautiful but that's all I think about them. I remember rooting for Kim to win at Vancouver. After that I have neglected this sport for like 2-3 years. Then I found out this kid at Nice. I am 27, too old to be a fangirl. But I can't help but being drawn by these young skaters, especially Yuzuru. It has been such a long time, but at last I find someone that worths rooting for.
