Same here...:slink: I started watching figure skating videos on Youtube about 2 weeks before the olympics, and that's when I came across their LP from Nice. I ABSOLUTELY fell in love with them. There was something so intriguing and scary about that performance that I just kept watching more and more videos.. and here I am.:biggrin:
 
This is my favourite performance too, I love Swan Lake and I started following V/T that season because of their Swan Lake program :love:
 
Hi – I’ve been reading your posts as best I can and sorry, but have been too busy to comment. I just watched the All That Skate videos available on Youtube and this forum. If I may say so, and I hope it’s not seen as too negative, but I think it’s a bit demeaning for V and T to skate in the “chorus” around Kim Yuna -- or anyone for that matter. Yuna is a beautiful skater, utterly graceful and lovely, but V and T are her equals. They should be introduced, called upon to perform and applauded at the end, but they should be treated as the rare and special skaters that they are -- not acolytes to any other skater. Some less well known skaters could be in the “chorus.” I know All That Skate is a Kim family production, and the Korean public is just nuts about Kim Yuna (with good reason), but V and T are the best pairs skaters in the world -- maybe even the best ever. Kim Yuna is a star but so are V and T. I know V and T should capitalize on their celebrity and their position as Olympic Gold Medal winners right now, but I think their choices should be made with care and they should keep a certain distance. I thought Max looked uncomfortable with the ensemble stuff, though more relaxed at the end. At least the choreography didn’t involve having to bow down to their hostess!
 
@Nessie I wouldn't read too much into it. Every show is different and since this is Yuna's show where she is billed as the star, it makes sense that the group number is choreographed around her. I don't think of everyone else as the chorus -- just part of the group of everyone who isn't Yuna. Each skater gets a respectful introduction at the beginning and before their performances. She didn't invite every Olympic champion this year, after all, and you could argue otherwise that Yagudin should be offended too.

I think it's clear that Yuna respects V/T given that she has invited them to be in her show from relatively early on in their career (spring 2012), and she gave Max her Pyeongchang 2018 scarf at the Sochi closing ceremony. If Max looked uncomfortable it may have something to do with the cheesiness of skating to a Disney medley, as Yuna herself did. :laugh:

Hahaha..... it reminded previously in the early of this forum, someone posted an interview saying Max still haven't 'forgive' Tanya for forcing him to watch a Disney movie with her???
 
oh, i have no doubt that she respects them. absolutely. i'm thinking of it more from Max's and Tanya's point of view. Good thought --about the cheesy song! That's funny -- that didn't occur to me! And good point about Yagudin. EVen Shay Lynn Bourne is something of a surprise! anyway, i'm of course happy to get to see V and T under most any circumstances....
 
Nessie I understand you, I also wish we could have seen Tatiana and Maxim play a bigger part, but as skatefan02 said this is Yuna's show and that's what the Koreans want. But I have to agree, Max doesn't look like the happiest man on earth, maybe it's the Disney song (or first costume lol) as you said. Or maybe he's just tired.
